Bio and Career
Vรญt Kopriva was born on June 15th, 1997, in Bรญlovec, Czech Republic. Turning pro in 2015, Kopriva reached a career-high ATP singles ranking of no 92 in May 2025, and a doubles high of No. 261 on October 17, 2022. A former Top 75 junior, he claimed wins over future stars like Alex de Minaur and Casper Ruud in boys singles.
Koprivaโs breakthrough came in 2021 at the Swiss Open Gstaad, his ATP Tour debut. Ranked No. 249, he stunned then No. 10 Denis Shapovalov 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, becoming the lowest-ranked player to beat a Top 10 opponent since Thanasi Kokkinakis in 2017. He reached the semifinals, defeating Mikael Ymer before falling to Ruud, joining Juan Manuel Cerรบndolo as the second player since 2012 to reach an ATP semifinal on debut. This year also saw him win his maiden Challenger doubles title at the Aspria Tennis Cup with Jirรญ Lehecka.
His first Challenger singles title came in 2022 at the UniCredit Czech Open in Prostejov, beating Dalibor Svrcina in the final. In 2024, he qualified for his first Grand Slam at the Australian Open, debuted at Wimbledonโs main draw, and won his fourth Challenger in Szczecin over Andrea Pellegrino.
In 2025, he claimed his sixth Challenger at the Napoli Tennis Cup, defeating top seed Luciano Darderi, and reached the Marrakech quarterfinals.
Vit Kopriva has six ATP Challenger singles titles and two doubles titles. His five ITF singles titles span five countries, with his latest in Prague 2019.
