Solinco and Brain Dead, the Los Angeles-based creative collective, just released their latest collab, the Solinco x Brain Dead Tennis Collection. Featuring a special-edition Whiteout 305 v2 racquet and a custom hybrid string setup, this limited-release line mixes Solinco’s gear with Brain Dead’s unique designs and aesthetic.

This is yet another fresh take on court-ready equipment, perfect for players who want to stand out but also try great tennis gear. We all love new collab’s and limited edition collections, so here’s some more details about this package.

The Collection: Racquet and Strings

First off is the Solinco x Brain Dead Whiteout v2 racquet, a reimagined version of Solinco’s control-oriented frame in Brain Dead’s acidchrome finish.

Using their Whiteout V2 as the base, you can expect good control, feel and power and it retains the standard specs: a 98-square-inch head, 16×19 string pattern, 21.7mm box beam and 330 swing-weight.

Brain Dead’s design, described by some as “irreverent”, “punk-nostalgic” or “psychedelic”, adds a vibrant look, far from traditional racquet styles.

The collection also includes a special-edition Solinco, green and blue, hybrid string setup, the Hyper Mach-BD, again packaged with a unique Brain Dead design. This setup is a poly-poly hybrid and combines Solinco’s popular strings, likely Hyper-G for spin and Mach-10 for power. The hybrid is made for players seeking a balance of spin, feel and controllable power.

Prices are around $300 for the racquet and $14 for the strings, check availability at Tennis Warehouse or at Tennis Warehouse Europe.

Design and Inspiration

Brain Dead, known for its post-punk and subculture-inspired graphics, brings a similar vibe to Solinco’s otherwise clean styled gear. The collection’s aesthetic aims to appeal to younger players and those blending tennis with streetwear, a growing trend in tennis it seems.

The Solinco x Brain Dead Tennis Collection comes as tennis embraces several fashion-forward collaborations, like the ASICS x A.P.C. or the Adidas’ tenniscore lines. Solinco, a leader in strings since a while back has expanded into racquets since 2022 with the Whiteout and Blackout lines, and this release strengthens its market presence.
