Solinco has released a new string called Mach-10. It is a softer, five-sided polyester string supposed to give you a mix of power and spin.
The Solinco Mach-10 string comes in four gauges: 1.15, 1.20, 1.25, 1.30. You go thicker for more durability and control and thinner for more power and comfort.
You might have tried Solinco Mach-10 but under the name of 10jx or Confidential 4.0, as this string has been developed for several years. According to Solinco, it is their most technologically advanced string to date. Mach-10 has something called CloudFORM, which is a unique chemical agent that softens the string without limiting the playability duration.
For now, Solinco Mach-10 is available in a fresh blue color, somewhat similar to the Tru Pro Pure Rush and Restring Zero. Maybe there will be more colors in the future.
Solinco Mach-10 Review

I have tested Mach-10 in various racquets over a few weeks. It is a lively string, but still offers that dip-in-at-the-last-second functionality that we all enjoy with polyester strings. I was surprised by the snapback the string provided, because I usually find softer strings are diminished in the type of spin potential they can provide. The string is still powerful and comfortable (for a poly string), so if you are a fan of Tour Bite or Hyper-G for their excellent control and prefer stiffer strings, this is not for you.
I tend to belong in the stiffer string camp, so for me, Mach-10 worked best in low-powered racquets like my Prestige MP 2019 or the Solinco Whiteout 305 V2. When I put it in the Solinco Blackout 300, I felt like I got a little too much power for my liking.
But if you are looking for a slightly softer poly string that retains the playability aspects we like in polys, I think Mach-10 should be on your list. It has a nice impact feel, still somewhat crisp despite being soft on the arm.
If you have arm issues, I would still consider multifilament strings instead of a softer poly unless the poly is really soft and you go low in tension. But for players who are in the soft poly camp, Mach-10 is an exciting new offering from Solinco.
This string holds tension better than the other softer strings in Solinco’s arsenal, like Tour Bite Soft and Hyper-G Soft and I think it has a more pleasant feel on impact.
There is a lot to like about Solinco Mach-10. If you are looking for a softer poly, give this one a try.
Where to buy the Solinco Mach 10 strings?
It is available from our friends at Tennis Warehouse (US, Canada), Tennis Warehouse Europe (10% off with code TNERD10) or Tennis Only (AU)!

Hi Jonas, how would you compare it to HyperG Soft in power, spin and control additionally?
Hi Michael, I would say it holds tension better. Spin is similar and power is kind of similar. A tad better control due to the tension maintenance.
Thank you Jonas for answering. I think that’s what I’m looking for. I’ll definitely give it a try …
Hi, how does this string compare to grapplesnake alpha?
Mach-10 is a little more spin-friendly and controlled
Hi Jonas ?!
My preferred String at the time ist the RPM Blast in 1.20mm.
Can you me explain the differnece between the two Strings?
Thank you very much.
Hi Thomas,
RPM Blast is more controlled and firmer on the joints. Solinco Mach 10 will give you more power and comfort, but less control.
I’m thinking of using Solinco MACH 10 in a Gravity MP for much the same reason you cited the string as being a good compliment to the Prestige MP. Would you recommend this – and do you have other suggestions for that frame? Would you use a full bed in the Gravity MP or add a more control oriented poly – like Restring SYNC – in the crosses to moderate the power and add control? I would very much like to hear your thoughts.
Jonas,
Excellent article! My preferred string is the HyperG 17 gauge in my Pro Staff 97 autograph (PS97A) v11. How do you think the Mach10 will compare in my PS97A? Thank you!
It will give you a bit more power, but still decent spin and control. Worth a try.
What about the actual dynamic stiffness?
Hi compare to tour bite soft?
Plays a bit softer to me.
Hi Jonas! Thank you so much for writing this. I normally play best with firm, control-oriented strings such as RPM Blast and Hyper G but don’t necessarily enjoy the firm feeling. Yonex Poly Tour Pro felt the best to me and was also more comfortable on the arm but it lost tension too quickly. What string would you recommend me based on the above info?
How would you compare Mach-10 to Tour Sniper or Head Hawk Power? Don’t care about spin at all being frank as imho 80% is the player not the racket in that department. Optimising for feel/touch, control and a bit of power.
I”m coming from syn gut as junior and then hybrids in my twenties. Always played full variety of shots vs sticking to baseline ;)
Now I’m looking for more competitive string setup for my gravity tour 2025.
Any recos appreciated!
Thanks for this review and all the explanations and video reviews that you give. The go to channel for advice.
My son is 11 years old was breaking multifilament strings too regularly so changed to a soft poly. Luxilon element soft IR 1.27 has been his favourite for a few months but is now breaking them very frequently as well.
I am thinking of moving to a hybrid set up with
Would you recommend
Yeah, Mach 10/Element Soft is worth a try. Let me know how it goes.
Thanks Jonas, excellent article as always. What do you think of a hybrid set up of Luxilon element soft IR and Solinco Mach 10 in a Dunlop FX500 lite? Looking for a slightly firmer string to complement a softer string to get a little bit more spin without sacrificing comfort and hopefully being a bit more durable. Currently has 43lbs tension with element soft it but breaking too often.
Sounds like an interesting combo, I would put Mach 10 in the mains.
I played pure aero 100 with vs touch natural and head lynx hybrid. Now im looking to change to s vcore 100, 98 or the 100D. Still want to usd the vs touch in the mains but do you think this string wpuld work in the crosses on any of the vcore raqets?
Thanks
Yes, I think it would, Jenson Brooksby uses a gut/Mach 10 hybrid so if it works for the ATP Tour. Usually I would recommend a round string to pair with the gut so the poly doesn’t saw into the string and reduce lifespan. There is also the risk of limited string movement due to strings locking. So I think I would rather put RPM Blast, Alu Power, Restring Sync or a Polytour Pro in the crosses.
Hi Jonas, what tension and gauge did you use it on the Nordicdots 100 racket?
And how did it play on that racket?
Hi Riivo,
It worked pretty well. I strung the 1.25 at 20 kg and I think the Model 100 plays best at a low tension.
Hi. How would you compare to yonex polytour air?
