Career and Bio
Vilius Gaubas was born on December 29th, 2004, in ล iauliai, Lithuania and he’s been playing tennis since the age of four.
He’s been coached by former world no 23 Guillermo Garcรญa-Lรณpez since 2022.
Gaubasโs breakthrough came in 2024, reaching his first ATP Challenger final in Rome and winning his maiden Challenger title in Cordenons, Italy, defeating Pedro Boscardin Dias, becoming one of only three Lithuanian Challenger champions since 1978. His second Challenger title at the 2025 Open Menorca, beating Rudolf Molleker, got him into the Top 150 of the ATP rankings.
His biggest career moment arrived at the 2025 Italian Open in Rome, where, ranked no 154, he qualified for his ATP and Masters 1000 main-draw debut, defeating Damir Dลพumhur for his first Top 100 win. He then stunned 28 ranked Denis Shapovalov 6-3, 6-4, becoming the first Lithuanian to reach a Masters 1000 third round.
As of time of writing, Gaubasโs singles record is 4-7 (36.36%), with $216,125 in prize money.
Gaubas reached a career-high ATP singles ranking of number 144 in April 2025, and is currently Lithuaniaโs No. 1 player.
