Career and Stats
Donna Vekic was born on June 28th, 1996, in Osijek, Croatia.
Turning pro in 2012, a former junior standout, she won the 2011 Orange Bowl girls title and quickly started to climb the rankings.
Vekicโs breakthrough came in 2014, winning her first WTA title at the Malaysian Open in Kuala Lumpur, defeating Dominika Cibulkovรก. She claimed her second title in 2017 at the Nottingham Open, beating Johanna Konta, and also claimed the 2021 Courmayeur Ladies Open.
Vekic won her fourth and last WTA title defeating Caroline Garcia in three sets at the Monterrey Open, Mexico.
Her biggest career moment arrived at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she won a silver medal in women singles, defeating Anna Karolรญna Schmiedlova before losing to Zheng Qinwen in the final, marking Croatiaโs first Olympic tennis medal.
In 2025, she started the season by reaching the fourth round of the Australian Open.
Her best Grand Slam results to date is the 2024 Wimbledon where she reached the semifinals.
As of April 2025, Vekic is ranked at no 19, with around $9.5M in prize money.
