Corentin Moutet

Corentin Moutet is a French tennis player known for his crafty left-handed game and flair for trick shots, currently ranked 83 with a career high of no 51 (2022). Let’s see what racquet and gear he’s currently using.

Moutet’s tennis racquet

Corentin Moutet’s racquet is the Tecnifibre TFX1 V2. I would guess it is the 98 sq inch version, but it is difficult to tell from the screen. He did switch from the Wilson Pro Open to the regular TFX1, but from what I heard he wanted a bit more control. He adds a little weight to the racquet, but it is still not heavy by pro player standards.

Moutet strings his racquets with Tecnifibre Razor Soft 1.25 at 23 kg or 51 lbs, depending on the conditions, of course, but within that range.

More about Moutet

Corentin Moutet was born April 19th, 1999, in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France. He began playing tennis at age three, inspired by his father, and grew up training in Paris.

As a junior, Moutet reached no 7 in the ITF rankings, compiling a 73-31 singles record. He reached the semifinals at the 2017 Australian Open boys event, both in singles and doubles.

He turned pro in 2016 and reached his first ATP final at 2020 ATP Doha (as a 20-year-old).

Yet to win a title on the ATP tour but on the ATP Challenger and ITF Tour Moutet reached a total of 17 finals and won 12 of them. He won a total of 6 Challenger titles, the latest one being Szczecin.

Notable wins: Defeated former champion Wawrinka ahead of the 2022 US Open, won over Stefanos Tsitsipas for his first Challenger title at Brest in 2017.

Corentin Moutet is not the tallest or most powerful player, but he compensates with great hands and a crafty, lefty game. His enemy has mainly been his own head, as he has been known to throw a temper tantrum or ten over the years.
