Hamad Medjedovic is a young, interesting player from Serbia that is starting to get serious international attention after reaching his career-high ATP singles ranking of world No 73 in February 2025. But what is Medjedovic racquet and gear?
Hamad Medjedovic’s Tennis Racquet
Hamad Medjedvovicโs racquet is a Babolat Pure Strike 98 18ร20. He used a Pure Aero as a younger player but later switched to get more control. But what are those black Babolat strings? Most likely RPM Blast, but if you have more information about his strings, tensions, and customization of his racquet, please let me know in the comments below.
There are not many players endorsing the Pure Strike after Dominic Thiem retired, so Medjedovic’s rise is important for Babolat to keep the franchise alive. Sure, Cameron Norrie uses an older Pure Control painted like a Pure Strike, but he has dropped in the rankings.
Bio and Career
Hamad Medjedovic was born on July 18th, 2003, in the small village of Novi Pazar, Serbia. He started playing tennis early, with his coach Edis Fetic, and around the age of 10, he moved to Belgrade for better conditions to learn tennis. Just a few years later he reached 9th place in the world ITF Junior rankings.
His career began to take shape at his ATP main draw debut at the 2021 Belgrade Open, receiving wildcards for both singles and doubles.
Medjedovic’s breakthrough came on the ATP Challenger Tour where he clinched his first title at the 2022 Platzmann-Sauerland Open as a qualifier, defeating players like Marco Cecchinato, Nicolรกs Jarry and finally Zhang Zhizhen in the final. This victory was followed by several more Challenger victories, including titles at the Kiskut Open and the Upper Austria Open in 2023, where he defeated former world no 3 Dominic Thiem. These successes helped him climb into the top 200 of the ATP rankings and he became the fourth Serbian player to win multiple Challenger titles.
His 2023 season was marked by some notable achievements, including making his Grand Slam debut at the French Open by qualifying for the main draw. His performance continued to improve, reaching his first ATP semifinal at the 2023 Swiss Open Gstaad and securing another Challenger title in Mallorca later that year. Medjedovic’s crowning moment in 2023 was winning the Next Gen ATP Finals.
Mentored and financially supported by Novak Djokovic, Medjedovic’s shows an aggressive play, a strong serve, seem particularly strong on hard courts but has shown great talent also on clay.
Following a strong 2024 with his maiden ATP final and Masters 1000 debut, 2025 has seen Medjedovic win a trophy at the Oeiras Indoors and reached a high rank of world No 73 in February 2025.

There are 16 mains on that racquet and looks like 19 or 20 crosses.
Yeah that’s definitely a 16×19 string pattern
