String review: Babolat RPM Blast

Written by: Jonas Eriksson | May 1, 2011

I was playing a beautiful combo of  Wilson NXT Tour and Luxilon Big Banger but the gut-like NXT broke quite often and although the feel was spectacular I was worried not only the strings would end up broke.

I decided to try out the more durable Babolat RPM Blast which promised a lot of spin and feel. From the first hit it felt wonderful. I got the spin and feel I wanted and it took me many, many sets of tennis for it to break.

The RPM Blast has become my permanent choice of string and it will take a lot for me to change.

  1. I always use rpm in my Babolat racquets. I recently tried the very skinny 18 g string. It is a lot different to the 17 g. Maybe a bit too lively for me on my decima. I have gone back to my VS with 17 g.

Jonas has been known as "tennis nerd" mainly for his obsessing about racquets and gear. Plays this beautiful sport almost every day.
