The 2025 tennis season was not just about the games, it was a year-long fashion show and the on-court apparel is becoming a hot topic. Brands leaned into high-fashion collaborations, bold color palettes and even retro- and futuristic inspired designs, adding another layer to some of the main tour events.

Here are some of the most iconic and talked-about on-court kits in 2025, from the ATP and WTA players.

WTA Tour

The women of the WTA brought a high-fashion sensibility to the court this year.

  • Coco Gauff (New Balance x Miu Miu): Gauff made the most significant fashion statement of the year by debuting a collaborative line with Miu Miu for several major tournaments. Her look at the Berlin Open, a crisp white and green set with sky blue accents, was a popular one. Her custom Wimbledon dress was also a masterclass in adhering to the all-white dress code while adding something unique. Check also Gauff’s US Open shoe collection.

  • Naomi Osaka (Custom Nike): Osaka consistently delivered custom-made drama at the Grand Slams. At the French Open, her Sakura-themed kit and matching shoes, with feminine pink and burgundy, made headlines. She followed this up with a custom red and shimmering Nike dress at the US Open (image on top) that truly lit up Arthur Ashe Stadium during night matches.
  • Victoria Mboko (Wilson): The rising Canadian star had a memorable French Open in a striking gold Wilson kit. The Topspin Seamless Polo Shirt and Eastside Mini Skirt channeled a modern-vintage, ’90s-inspired vibe.
  • Maria Sakkari (adidas Y-3): The collaboration between adidas and designer Yohji Yamamoto delivered one of the most avant-garde looks. Sakkari’s Y-3 Tennis Pro Bib in purple, worn over a white cropped tank at the US Open, featured an asymmetrical, intersecting strap design that showed a high-concept style in women’s tennis.

  • Iga Swiatek (On): The World No. 1 (at that time) brought vibrant color to the Australian Open with her creamsicle-flavored On kit. The orange and yellow combination on her Court Tank and Skirt offered a much-needed pop of color and was hailed as one of her best looks of the year.

ATP Tour: Retro, Blackout and more

On the men’s side, fashion trends included sleek, stealthy colorways and a revival of classic, oversized silhouettes.

  • Lorenzo Musetti (ASICS x A.P.C.): Musetti was arguably the most stylish man on the ATP Tour in 2025. One outfit that made headlines was an all-white ASICS x A.P.C. kit at the Madrid Open, featuring an oversized, sleeveless top and 5″ shorts. This was like a unique blend of street-style fashion and performance wear but maybe not everyone’s favorite.

  • Jannik Sinner (Nike): Returning to the Italian Open, Sinner captivated fans with a simple yet powerful all-black Nike kit. The all-black look, consisting of a NikeCourt Advantage Polo and matching shorts, provided a serious, contrasting aesthetic against his usual brighter kits (and remember the Luigi look at Roland Garros?).
  • Novak Djokovic (Lacoste): For the US Open, Djokovic embraced a trend among legends by sporting a sleek all-black Lacoste kit. His custom Lacoste jacket and the matching On-Court Polo and shorts, sometimes jokingly referred to as his “Darth Vader kit,” offered a powerful look befitting a champion.

  • Frances Tiafoe (Lululemon): In his first year with Lululemon, Tiafoe delivered playful summer energy. His striped, UV-protected mesh t-shirt and shorts, featuring shades of blue and white, felt like an open invitation to a “pool party” and stood out as a fan favorite for their bold pattern and refreshing colorway.

Beyond the individual outfits, several trends dictated the overall fashion landscape in 2025.

We saw plenty of designer collaborations such as the New Balance x Miu Miu, Mejuri Play x Racquet Magazine, adidas x Y-3, Wilson x Kith and the ASICS x A.P.C.

At parts of the seasons, there were also a clear return to ’90s and Y2K-inspired silhouettes, including cropped tops, high-waist pleated skirts and oversized, boxy jackets for pre-match warmups.

Many clothing brands continued to push for eco-friendly materials, with widespread use of recycled polyester and organic cotton in their performance collections.
