Looking to bet on the 2026 Cincinnati Open? Then the below is essential reading. I’ve gone through both draws with a fine-tooth comb looking for betting opportunities ahead of the final Masters 1000 event before the US Open. From outright bets to dark horses and value plays, I cover it all as Cincinnati gets underway this week.
Men’s odds & favorites at 2026 Cincinnati Open
For context, here’s how I expect tennis betting sites to price the men’s outright winner market heading into the 2026 Cincinnati Open. Note that odds can change at anytime and they vary between different bookies.
- Alexander Zverev – 3.50 (+250)
- Novak Djokovic – 5.00 (+400)
- Felix Auger-Aliassime – 6.50 (+550)
- Ben Shelton – 8.00 (+700)
- Daniil Medvedev – 9.00 (+800)
- Taylor Fritz – 10.00 (+900)
- Alex de Minaur – 13.00 (+1200)
- Flavio Cobolli – 15.00 (+1400)
- Jiri Lehecka – 17.00 (+1600)
- Rafael Jodar – 21.00 (+2000)
The big story here is the absence of Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz. Sinner has pulled out with a right knee injury sustained after winning Wimbledon, while Alcaraz hasn’t played since April’s Barcelona Open due to a wrist issue. That blows this tournament wide open.
Zverev is the rightful favorite. The German won his maiden Grand Slam at Roland-Garros this year and made the Wimbledon final, so he’s been in excellent form across 2026. That said, he was bundled out early in Montreal and has a patchy record in Cincinnati historically, so I’m not rushing to back him.

Djokovic is the name that stands out behind Zverev. The Serb has been selective with his schedule this year, skipping Montreal and playing just two of the five Masters events so far. He’s fresh and motivated – and Cincinnati is a tournament he’s won three times before. At 5.00 (+400), he’s worth serious consideration.
One player I’d look to have a little longer is Medvedev. The Russian has had a poor North American swing so far, falling early in Montreal, and his game doesn’t always click on these courts. Having him at 9.00 (+800) feels generous in his favor.
Dark horses
- Learner Tien – 26.00 (+2500)
- Jack Draper – 51.00 (+5000)
- Matteo Berrettini – 81.00 (+8000)
Tien is the kind of player that thrives in these conditions. The 16th seed is a physical beast whose defensive game wears opponents down – exactly what works on the slower Cincinnati hardcourts. At the time of writing, the Canadian Open in Montreal is still ongoing, and Tien has been one of the standout performers, reaching the quarter-finals. He’s in excellent form at the right time.
Draper is a wildcard entry and has the tools to cause some real damage. The Brit’s lefty serve and heavy forehand are perfect weapons on hardcourts. He’s drawn in Djokovic’s section and could meet the Serb as early as the third round – a tough ask, but one that Draper is capable of making competitive.
Berrettini is unseeded but shouldn’t be underestimated. The Italian former world No 6 has been working his way back from injury and possesses one of the biggest serves in the game. If he can string a few matches together, he’s got the firepower to beat anyone in this draw.
Best outright bets
- Djokovic to win @ 5.00 (+400)
- Shelton to win @ 8.00 (+700)
- Fritz to win @ 10.00 (+900)
I’m going with Djokovic as my headline outright bet. This is a rare opportunity for the 39-year-old to win a Masters title without having to navigate Sinner or Alcaraz. He’s drawn in the top half with Zverev as his projected semi-final opponent – a player he’s beaten in big moments before. His early-round path is navigable, with Martin Landaluce or Draper likely in the third round and the Luciano Darderi-Jakub Mensik winner in the fourth round, before a potential quarter-final against de Minaur.
Djokovic is a three-time Cincinnati champion and doesn’t need match fitness to win here – he just needs the draw to be kind. It is.
Shelton is my second pick. The defending Canadian Open champion has been in strong form in Montreal, reaching the quarter-finals at the time of writing. He’s the eighth seed in Cincinnati, but faces a tough draw – Ignacio Buse in the third round, then likely Ugo Humbert or Lorenzo Musetti in the fourth, before a projected quarter-final against Auger-Aliassime. That’s a gauntlet, but Shelton’s huge serve is a weapon that can get him through any match on quick hardcourts.
Fritz rounds out my outright bets. The American won the DC Open title recently, beating Jodar in the final to claim his first trophy of 2026 after three consecutive final losses earlier in the season. He enters Cincinnati as the sixth seed in the bottom half, with Medvedev the projected quarter-final opponent – a player Fritz has had success against on hardcourts. At 10.00 (+900), there’s decent value.
Value bets to consider
- Jodar to reach the semi-finals @ 7.00 (+600)
- Tien to beat Shelton (projected R4) @ 3.50 (+250)
- Draper to reach the quarter-finals @ 9.00 (+800)
Jodar is on a tear right now. The 12th seed made the DC Open final, losing to Fritz, and at the time of writing is in the semi-finals in Montreal. This is a 19-year-old who’s playing the best tennis of his life.
In Cincinnati, his section of the top half is manageable – Alejandro Tabilo, Alexander Blockx and Valentin Vacherot are his likely early-round opponents before a potential quarter-final against Zverev or Cobolli. If he carries his current form into Ohio, getting him to the semis at around 7.00 (+600) looks like excellent value.

As for Tien, he could meet Shelton in the fourth round, and that’s a match I think he can win. Tien has the defensive game to neutralize Shelton’s power, and his athleticism allows him to stay in rallies long enough to draw errors. With Tien in brilliant form coming out of Montreal, this is a bet I’d take at any price over 3.00.
Finally, Draper making the quarter-finals as a wildcard would require him to beat Landaluce and then potentially Matteo Arnaldi, before a likely third-round date with Djokovic. Get past the Serb, and a fourth-round match against the Darderi-Mensik winner would stand between him and the last eight. That’s a steep ask. But Draper can beat anyone on his day, and at 9.00, the risk-reward is excellent for a small play.
Women’s odds & favorites at 2026 Cincinnati Open
Switching to the women’s draw, here’s how I expect tennis bookmakers to price the outright winner market heading into Cincinnati:
- Aryna Sabalenka – 3.50 (+250)
- Elena Rybakina – 5.00 (+400)
- Coco Gauff – 7.00 (+600)
- Iga Swiatek – 8.00 (+700)
- Jessica Pegula – 9.00 (+800)
- Mirra Andreeva – 11.00 (+1000)
- Elina Svitolina – 15.00 (+1400)
- Linda Noskova – 17.00 (+1600)
- Naomi Osaka – 21.00 (+2000)
- Amanda Anisimova – 23.00 (+2200)
Sabalenka will be the bookmakers’ favorite, but I’m not sure she deserves to be. The world No 1 lost to Ekaterina Alexandrova in three sets during the fourth round in Toronto, continuing what has been a shaky few months since the Sunshine Double. She’s still the most talented player in the draw, but her form doesn’t warrant such a short price right now.
Swiatek at 8.00 (+700) is the price I like. The seventh seed has been building momentum in Toronto, reaching the semi-finals at the time of writing after beating Marta Kostyuk and then thrashing Diana Shnaider 6-2, 6-1 in the quarters. She’s made a coaching change this season, bringing in Francisco Roig, and finally seems to be finding her feet under new guidance. Her draw in Cincinnati places her in the bottom half with Rybakina as a projected quarter-final opponent.

Noskova at 17.00 (+1600) deserves attention too. The Wimbledon champion is making her return to hardcourts and is the sixth seed. She’s drawn in the bottom half and should be considered a real contender, not a longshot.
Dark horses
- Iva Jovic – 51.00 (+5000)
- Ekaterina Alexandrova – 34.00 (+3300)
- Jelena Ostapenko – 81.00 (+8000)
- Janice Tjen – 101.00 (+10000)
Iva Jovic has been one of the breakthrough stories of the 2026 season. The 13th seed is just 18 years old but has shown she can compete at the highest level. Her power and fearlessness make her a nightmare draw for anyone.
Alexandrova just beat Sabalenka in Toronto, winning in three sets to continue a remarkable record against world No 1s at WTA 1000 events. She’s the 16th seed and drawn in Sabalenka’s quarter once again in Cincinnati. If the Russian carries her Toronto confidence into Ohio, she could cause more problems at the top of the draw.
Ostapenko is the 26th seed and drawn in the bottom half. Her ultra-aggressive style can beat anyone on its day, and at 81.00 (+8000), a small punt is hard to resist.
Tjen is the 32nd seed from Indonesia and has been climbing the rankings steadily. Her game translates well to North American hardcourts and she could be one to watch deeper into the week.
Best outright bets
- Rybakina @ 5.00 (+400)
- Gauff @ 7.00 (+600)
- Svitolina @ 15.00 (+1400)
Rybakina is my pick to win this tournament. The second seed is in the bottom half, away from Sabalenka, and her draw looks manageable. Ostapenko then Maja Chwalinska, before potentially Swiatek and Pegula in the semis. Rybakina has the serve and the baseline power to get through these opponents, and she’s been one of the most consistent players on Tour this year. Her quarter-final run in Toronto – where she fought back from two breaks down in the decider against Liudmila Samsonova – showed real grit.

Gauff at 7.00 (+600) is a bet I’m making with confidence. The fourth seed has a favorable draw in the top half – she’s projected to face either Jovic or Marie Bouzkova in the fourth round, with Andreeva the likely quarter-final opponent. Gauff destroyed Alina Korneeva in the Toronto fourth round and her game suits these conditions.
Svitolina is the value play. The eighth seed has been excellent in 2026, and her defensive game frustrates opponents on any surface. At the time of writing, she’s in the semi-finals in Toronto after coming from a set down to beat Alexandrova in the quarters. She’s riding real momentum heading into Cincinnati, and at 15.00 (+1400), she’s underpriced for a player of her caliber and current form.
Value bets to consider
- Alexandrova to beat Sabalenka (projected R4) @ 3.00 (+200)
- Osaka to reach the fourth round @ 3.50 (+250)
- Swiatek to win the bottom half @ 4.00 (+300)
The first bet almost writes itself. Alexandrova just beat Sabalenka in Toronto and is seeded to meet her again in the third round at Cincinnati. Their head-to-head is now 5-5, and Alexandrova has clearly figured out how to disrupt Sabalenka’s power game. With Sabalenka’s form wobbling, odds around 3.00 (+200) for a player who’s beaten her three times at WTA 1000 events look like a steal.
I’ve been high on Osaka for a while and continue to be. The 11th seed has been impressive in Toronto, reaching the quarter-finals at the time of writing after beating Leylah Fernandez without facing a break point. In Cincinnati, she’s drawn alongside Jessica Bouzas Maneiro early, before a likely third-round clash with Madison Keys. At 3.50 (+250) to reach the fourth round, there’s solid value on a player who looks settled and confident.
Finally, Swiatek winning the bottom half – beating Pegula and Rybakina along the way – is a possibility. The Pole has shown real fight in Toronto and her draw, while tough, is full of players she’s beaten before. She beat Svitolina in Rome earlier this year but lost to her in the 2024 Roland-Garros quarter-finals, so that potential semi-final matchup could go either way. At around 4.00 (+300), it’s a bet that offers good returns if the six-time Grand Slam champion can string a few wins together.
