The singles field for the 2025 WTA Finals in Riyadh is officially complete, following Elena Rybakina’s qualification on Thursday. The former Wimbledon champion secured the eighth and final spot in the season-ending championships by reaching the semifinals of the Toray Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo.

Rybakina clinched her place in the elite eight-player field by defeating Canada’s Victoria Mboko in a hard-fought quarterfinal match. This victory ensured she leaped ahead of Mirra Andreeva in the Race to the WTA Finals, set to take place from November 1-8, 2025.

A Third Consecutive Appearance

This will mark the 26-year-old’s third consecutive appearance at the WTA Finals. Rybakina’s season has been highlighted by two WTA 500 titles, triumphing at the Ningbo Open and the Internationaux de Strasbourg, in addition to reaching several major semifinals.

All eight players confirmed

Rybakina joins an already great lineup for the 2025 WTA Finals:

  • Aryna Sabalenka
  • Iga Swiatek
  • Coco Gauff
  • Amanda Anisimova
  • Jessica Pegula
  • Madison Keys
  • Jasmine Paolini

Tournament Director Garbiñe Muguruza hailed the depth of the field. “This season we have seen eight different champions across WTA 1000 tournaments and the Grand Slams, showing the incredible depth and drama of the WTA Tour, with the perfect curtain-call now ready to take place at the WTA Finals.”

The format will see the players compete in a round-robin stage before advancing to the knockout semifinals. Mirra Andreeva and Ekaterina Alexandrova will serve as the first and second alternates for the singles draw.
