Budkov Kjaer started playing tennis when he was six years old, and was coached by his father. His career has improved greatly in the past years and he had a great 2024 season in the junior ranks:
- Wimbledon Junior Champion (2024): First Norwegian man to win a Grand Slam singles title (junior or professional level.)
- French Open Boys’ Doubles Champion (2024): He also secured this title alongside his partner, Joel Schwärzler.
- US Open Boys’ Singles Finalist (2024): He finished the year as the Junior World No. 1.
Professional Breakthrough
The Norwegian began making serious waves on the professional circuit by mixing junior and lower-level pro events.
- Maiden Pro Title: He won his first professional title at an M15 event in Antalya, Turkey, in March 2024, which helped him break into the ATP Top 1000.
- ATP Challenger tour dominance: In 2025, he established himself as a force on the ATP Challenger Tour, winning four titles (Glasgow, Tampere, Astana, and Mouilleron-le-Captif) climbing up the ATP Rankings.
