Bio and Career
Born June 1, 2001, in Busto Arsizio, Italy, Mattia Bellucci is known for his fluid left-handed game and tactical versatility.
Turning pro in 2018, Bellucci reached a junior peak of no 546, with a 34-17 singles record but no major junior titles. His breakthrough came in 2022, winning back-to-back ATP Challenger titles at Saint-Tropez and Vilnius, defeating Hugo Grenier and Cem Ilkel, respectively, becoming the youngest Italian to win consecutive Challengers since Stefano Pescosolido in 1991.
In 2023, he made his Grand Slam debut at the Australian Open as a qualifier, losing to Ben Shelton, and won his first Major match at the US Open, defeating Stan Wawrinka. He finished the 2024 season ranked world No. 100.
His biggest career moment came at the 2025 ABN AMRO Open in Rotterdam, where, ranked No. 92, he defeated Daniil Medvedev 6-3, 6-7(6), 6-3 and No. 12 Stefanos Tsitsipas to reach his first ATP 500 semifinal. At Wimbledon 2025, ranked No. 73, he reached the second round, eventually losing to Cameron Norrie.
