Diana Shnaider is a left-handed Russian player, currently ranked 13 in the world, expected to have a strong 2025 season. You probably recognise her from her dotted head scarf, but what is Diana Shnaider’s racquet and gear?
Diana Shnaider’s tennis racquet
Diana Shnaider’s tennis racquet is a Yonex Ezone 100. It is most likely an older version, either the 2020 or the 2022, in our guesstimation. She has plenty of lead tape at 12 o’clock on the racquet for an increase in swing weight and power, and she strings her racquets with Yonex Poly Tour Fire, a round, firm but somewhat dampened string also used by Elena Rybakina.
We don’t know her exact specifications (with customization) or her string tension, so if you do, please let us know in the comments below. Thanks.
Bio and Career
Diana Shnaider was born 2nd April 2004 in Zhigulevsk, Russia. She started playing tennis already at the age of four and at eight years old she took the sport more seriously when she began training in Moscow with coach Samvel Minasyan. As a junior, she reached a combined ITF Junior ranking of number 3 in December 2021.
Following a period at the North Carolina State University where she played tennis with the NC State Wolfpack, Diana turned pro in 2023 and has made steady progress since then.
Shnaider got her first Grand Slam main draw win at the 2023 Australian Open and reached the fourth round at the 2024 US Open, her best Grand Slam singles result to date.
Shnaiderโs big breakthrough came in 2024 though, a standout year where she won four WTA singles titles: the Thailand Open (hard), Bad Homburg Open (grass), Hungarian Grand Prix (clay), and Trophee Clarins (clay). As you can see, Shnaider is an all-court player that adapts well between the different periods of the tennis calendar.
She also secured her first WTA doubles title at the 2025 Brisbane International alongside Mirra Andreeva. Another notable achievement includes a silver medal in womenโs doubles at the 2024 Paris Olympics with Andreeva.
Diana Shnaider has an aggressive playing style, with a strong forehand. Currently, she holds a career-high singles ranking of number 12 (achieved November 4, 2024) and a doubles ranking of number 26 (reached February 17, 2025).
