An exciting player that many people have their eyes on is Alexander Bublik from Kazakhstan. Let’s look a bit closer at his biography, stats and also, what racquet does Bublik use?

Top 10 Player

Just having broken into the top 10 of the ATP rankings (January 2026) for the first time, Alexander (Sasha) Bublik first came into the spotlight when he faced Andy Murray in Wimbledon in 2017. Bublik had said some comments to the press (the Daily Mail) that angered a lot of tennis fans. Such as when he said that watching the likes of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal bores him: ‘They’re rallying for, like, 45 shots, you’re sitting there thinking: “Can I quit tennis please?”‘

He apparently also said. “I never had idols in my life. I never watched anyone play. If you ask me how many titles Federer has won, I will not know.”

And: “Last year I was only doing trick shots. Even if I was playing against good guys, top 100 or whatever, I wasn’t interested. I would make 100 drop shots to try to win the match.”

Nick Kyrgios two years ago or so comes to mind. Or Bernard Tomic any year. But let’s disregard this as youthful spunk to rally tennis fans and stir up some controversy. It sounds pretty much like baloney any way. The question here is what racquet Bublik is using, because lately he has shown, this talent can play tennis, even against the best ones in the world.

Alexander Bublik’s racquet

Bublik has been all over the place with racquets. He started his career with a Wilson Six One 95 in a Wilson Pro Staff 97 paint job in the pic above, but much has happened in recent years. Firstly, he went to Yonex for a while and the Yonex Ezone 98. Yonex did not like him breaking so many racquets and they had a falling out, allegedly. Then he went to the HEAD Gravity Pro, but that did not quite work for him either, so it was a shorter period.

After that he became a Tecnifibre sponsored athlete and was using the Tecnifibre Tfight ISO 305 with the following specs:

Weight: 319 grams (add about 25g for strings and overgrip 344 approx)
Balance: 31.7 cm (should be about 32.5 cm with strings and overgrip)
Swing weight: 304 SW (add 30 pts with strings for 334 SW)

2025 changed everything?

But in 2025, he wanted more power and spin and bought a few Babolat Pure Aero 98, painted them black and according to recent interviews, he plays them lighter than stock (he started cutting some plastic off the grommet strip to reduce weight). We don’t know the full specifications, but what he said in the interview is that he uses it at 290 swing weight unstrung, which is very light for an ATP pro.

However, the tour is going lighter, so it does make some sense. He has also been rumored to create his own racquet in the Aero 98 style since he is not getting or does not want a Babolat sponsorship. Might be something from the rumor mill, but fascinating if true.

No matter what, his blacked-out Aero style racquets are working fine for him. Strung with Babolat RPM Blast 1.30, he has just won the Hong Kong Open to make his first entry inside the top ten players in the world.

We hope to learn more about Bublik’s racquet and specs in an near future.
