It’s title day in Cincinnati, and it’s (as expected) the two dominant players of the tournament that will face each other in what should be a well-played and entertaining final to watch. Here’s a quick preview for the 2026 Cincinnati final, Arthur Fils vs. Frances Tiafoe, with our predictions.
Arthur Fils vs Frances Tiafoe
Arthur Fils has been the standout player of the week, dropping just one set en route to his maiden Masters 1000 final. He needed to fight off an early break and a rain delay to see off Flavio Cobolli 6-3, 6-4 in the semis, and a win today would push him to a new career-high ranking inside the top 12.
Tiafoe is chasing redemption of sorts, back in the Cincinnati final for the second time in three years after losing to Jannik Sinner here in 2024. He survived a rollercoaster all-American semifinal against Brandon Nakashima, saving two set points at 4-5 in the first set before pulling away for a 7-5, 6-3 win.
Fils holds a 1-0 head-to-head edge, from a long and tough battle in the Miami last year.

Predictions and best bets
Both men arrive in career-best form and this should be “a helluva show” as Tiafoe predicts himself. Fils has looked like the most complete player in the draw all week, controlling rallies and serving with real conviction, while Tiafoe’s route here has involved more scrambling, even if he always found a way through.
Fils is a player with high goals for the near future and a title here would be a great start. He also has better stats than his opponent in ATP finals (an impressive 4-2 total). I think he will clinch it but it will probably take all three sets.
My bet: Fils to win in three sets, at odds 3.60 or +260.
