Ideal Player Profile
- Intermediate to Advanced Players: Medium-fast arms looking for easy power without sacrificing control.
- All-court Enthusiasts: From baseline drives to net play—smooth handling and versatility.
- Heritage Lovers: Those who appreciate a classic aesthetic with contemporary performance.
Considerations
- Sweet Spot: While more forgiving than classic player’s frames, it’s not oversized—precision still matters.
- Power Level: Best classed as low–medium; you get punch, but need your own swing for juice.
- Weight: Strung weight (~312?g) with swingweight (~317) sits mid-range; give-and-take of stability vs. maneuverability.
If you’re an intermediate-to-advanced player with a medium-fast swing seeking a stylish racket that punches with ease and pays tribute to a legend, this could be one of the best tennis racquets to try out.
I have been playing tennis for over 51 years. My very first racket was a Dunlop Max Ply . Such a beautiful wood racket with it’s multi wood grain, I still have one with the cover, press and with Babolat natural gut strung from it’s. But my favorite is the Arthur Ashe Comp 2 . I begged my parents all summer for that. The deal was to do well in school and you can get the racket for Christmas. And it happened. I slept with the racket that night. Decades later and the Innovation of racket it was place in my parents basement where it was thrown out by my brother. Will it’s nice to say that Arthur Ashe is not forgot by making this racket wiht his name on it. I would be honored to own this racket with his name it.
