Swiss performance brand, ON, continues to be a growing sensation in the world of tennis. The company first became known for its running shoes, but it has started to gain attention on the courts thanks to Roger Federer. As both an investor and creative partner, Federer helped give ON an instant impact within the sport.
Even with its rapid growth, the brand currently sponsors only a few players, including Iga Swiatek, Ben Shelton, Flavio Cobolli and teenage sensation Joao Fonseca (click on the names to read more about their racquets). When it comes to professional athletes and their gear, there’s usually more going on than what the average fan may notice. Most of these pros have access to customizing their equipment so that it fits to their playing style and performance needs.
Flavio Cobolli – ON The Roger Pro Fire
Among ON’s group of sponsored tennis players, Flavio Cobolli stands out as he is the only one to be wearing the retail version of the ON The Roger Pro Fire. While other players compete in customized shoes, Cobolli plays in the same model that fans can actually buy in stores. The Roger Pro Fire features ON’s Speedboard to maximize energy return and lateral stability. It combines a lightweight feel with solid support, making it a reliable choice for explosive movements and aggressive play.

Iga Swiatek – Customized ON The Roger Pro 2
Current world #2, Iga Swiatek, was one of ON’s first major signings. Swiatek endorses ON’s flagship model, The Roger Pro 2, which features a new, ultra-light and abrasion-resistant mesh upper and perforated tongue designed for speed and breathability. However, Swiatek’s pair is highly customized with a completely different upper material. Her custom pair looks to feature a synthetic material and a longer lateral TPU clip which runs from the tip of the shoe until the mid-section for added stability and durability, which, ironically, is the opposite of what the retail model advertises.

Ben Shelton – ON The Roger Pro 2 with Customized Outsole
Ben Shelton, the highest-ranked male player sponsored by ON, also endorses the company’s flagship model, The Roger Pro 2. At first glance, his pair looks almost identical to the retail model, but it features a different outsole taken from The Roger Pro 1. Shelton s an aggressive mover and plays his best tennis on hard courts. The decision to keep the original tread outsole pattern rather than the newer, more pronounced open herringbone pattern may help him slide more easily on hard courts while still providing a good amount of traction.

Joao Fonseca – ON The Roger Pro 2 with Customized Outsole
Teenage sensation João Fonseca recently celebrated his second career ATP title by having a victorious week in Basel. At the US Open, he was seen wearing the ON The Roger Pro Fire, but lately he has been spotted in either a highly customized version of the same shoe featuring the Roger Pro 1 outsole pattern or a completely unreleased new model. Fonseca was also seen wearing this mysterious silo in a black colorway during the Laver Cup.
