Ignacio was born on 25th March 2004 and started playing tennis at a very young age, around two or three years old. He later became a member of the ITF Junior Tennis Initiative in Peru.

- Reached his first ATP Tour semifinal at the Swiss Open in Gstaad in July 2025, becoming the youngest Peruvian tour-level semi-finalist since 1989.

- Made his major debut as a qualifier at the 2025 US Open, losing in the first round to Ben Shelton.
