Filip Misolic is an Austrian player known for a strong clay-court game and a good forehand. But what is Misolic current racquet and strings?
Filip Misolic tennis racquet
When you start researching Filip Misolic’s racquet, you get pictures of him playing with a Radical, a Speed, and now, in Paris, with a Prestige. He is obviously a HEAD-sponsored player, but has been searching for something from his racquet. He is currently using the HEAD Prestige MP mold, also called TGT 334, with an 18/19 pattern. He strings the racquet with HEAD Lynx Tour.
If you know the racquet specs or string tension of Filip Misolic’s racquet, please comment below.
The HEAD Prestige MP is an interesting racquet. It has a larger head size than you would think when you hear the word Prestige. The Prestige Classic 2.0, which Marat Safin rocks as Andrey Rublev’s coach, is 89.5 sq inches, while this MP is 99 sq inches.
Tennis racquets on the pro tour are larger overall in head size on average, which allows for more forgiveness and power as the game speeds up. They are also on average lighter than pro racquets used to be. I would not be surprised if Misolic uses the MP close to retail specs. The HEAD Prestige MP 2023 is truly a modern Prestige and if you want more spin potential and launch angle, you can go for the MP L, which has a 16/19 string pattern and lighter weight.
