Alexander Bublik, Kazakhstan’s no 1, is starting to show some serious form, especially on clay. His French Open run is his deepest yet, reaching the fourth round for the first time after never advancing past the second in prior years. We know he has a good variation, plenty of imagination and some very nice drop shots lately, but now he’s also adding some consistency to his game.
Jack Draper, Britain’s top hope, is 25-6 in 2025, and is slowly cementing his place among the best players in the world and it’s just a matter of time until he wins a Grand Slam. The 23-year-old won his first Masters 1000 title in Indian Wells recently. At Roland Garros, he’s dropped just two sets, beating Mattia Bellucci 3-6, 6-1, 6-4, 6-2, defeated Gael Monfils in a great match (6-3, 4-6, 6-3, 7-5) and dominated young talent João Fonseca in straight sets, with 37 winners and eight aces.
Draper’s lefty serve and forehand, have been fantastic and he’s a very tough player to face on court. This is something that Bublik himself acknowledged:
“He doesn’t seem to stop, so I mean, what do I have to do to beat him? I don’t know.” said Bublik.
