Adam Walton is an Australian top 100 player that just got his first Masters 1000 win at the 2025 Indian Wells, but what is Walton’s racquet and gear?

Adam Walton’s Tennis Racquet

Adam Walton’s tennis racquet is a Babolat Pure Aero 2023. At least, that is what it is painted as. As you might know, pro players endorse the latest racquet model from the brand but usually play with an older version that they got used to. It would be risky to change racquets every 2-3 years that the manufacturers bring out new models.

Walton could be playing with the latest Pure Aero, but it could also be either a 2016 or 2019 version of the iconic line. My guess is that it is the 2019 “banana” version. Many players like that more than the current one, because it had a more open string pattern and produced a higher launch angle and more spin potential than the current Aero.

You can still get this more open string pattern, but then you would need to buy a Pure Aero Rafa, which might not be around for much longer as Nadal has retired.

Walton strings his racquet with a hybrid string setup with one yellow string (Pro Hurricane or RPM Blast Rough, most likely) and a grey string in the crosses. If you know what specifications, strings, or tension Walton uses for his racquets, please let us know in the comments.

Bio and Career

Adam Walton was born on April 17th, 1999, in Brisbane, Australia.

He turned pro in 2022 after a great college career at the University of Tennessee where he played for five years from 2017. During these years, Walton had a 124-45 singles record and a 101-38 doubles record, earning three First-Team All-SEC honors among other achievements.

On the ATP Tour, Walton has climbed to a career-high singles ranking of number 86 (August 2024) and a doubles ranking of number 136 (March 2024).

His professional breakthrough came on the ATP Challenger Tour, where he has secured three singles titles, most recently at the 2024 Taipei Challenger, and three doubles titles, starting with the 2023 San Luis Open Challenger together with Colin Sinclair.

His Grand Slam debut came via a wildcard at the Australian Open in 2024, and he has since made small strides at the Masters 1000 level, qualifying for the 2024 Miami Open and got his first Masters win at the 2025 Indian Wells Open against Giulio Zeppieri (7-5, 6-1). See video below.

Coached by Andrew Roberts, the 6-foot (183cm), 170-pound (77kg) Australian is making a name for himself and is expected to climb the rankings this coming season.
