We just recently went through the most used racquet brands for the ATP tour, but what about the women? Let’s see what brands are popular on the WTA tour in 2025.

For more gear, check all of our tennis racquet reviews.

Most Used Tennis Racquet Brands on the WTA Tour

1. Wilson

  • Market Share / Number of Players: Around 31-43% of the WTA Top 100, making it the most used brand historically and likely also this year.
  • Popular Models:
    • Wilson Blade 98: Widely endorsed by players like Paula Badosa and Amanda Anisimova. Its 98 sq. in. head size offers control and feel, though some use older Steam 100 frames painted as Blades.
    • Wilson Ultra: players like Ajla Tomljanovic and Maria Sakkari use versions from the Ultra line. The slightly longer Tour 95 racquet is still used by some pros on the WTA Tour.
  • Details: Wilsonโ€™s dominance is rooted in its old American heritage and extensive sponsorships. Over 150 Grand Slams have been won with Wilson tennis racquets, and its Blade and Pro Staff lines are popular with control-oriented players, while the Clash targets modern versatility.
  • 2025 Outlook: Andreeva’s rise, Sabalenka, and Badosa all ensure that Wilson is relevant on the women’s tour. Svitolinaโ€™s 2025 switch to Diadem slightly reduces its count, but that’s about it.

2. Yonex

  • Market Share / Number of Players: Around 19-29%, a strong second-place contender.
  • Popular Models:
  • Details: Yonex, a Japanese brand, has increased in popularity for to its innovative designs and growing roster, including past champions like Martina Hingis. The EZONE line appeals to power players, while VCORE suits spin specialists.
  • 2025 Outlook: Rybakinaโ€™s success and Keys switch to the brand helps establish Yonexโ€™s position as a key player on the WTA Tour.

3. Babolat

  • Market Share / Number of Players: Around 11-15% in the WTA Top 100..
  • Popular Models:
  • Details: Babolat, a French brand since 1875, excels with spin-focused racquets like the Pure Aero and power-oriented Pure Drive. Itโ€™s less dominant on the WTA than the ATP but still has a solid presence among baseline players.
  • 2025 Outlook: There have been no significant moves or signings as fair as we are aware on the Babolat player front. If you have spotted something interesting, please feel free to share.

4. Head

  • Market Share / Number of Players: Around 8-10%.
  • Popular Models:
  • Details: Head, an Austrian brand, sponsors fewer WTA players than ATP but remains competitive with its Graphene technology and arm-friendly designs. Itโ€™s also the official ATP/WTA ball supplier.
  • 2025 Outlook: There have been no strong movements among HEAD players in 2025 thus far. Coco Gauff is the biggest star and is looking for Grand Slam title number two. Karolina Muchova is a strong ambassador for the Speed and could have a breakthrough year.

5. Tecnifibre

  • Market Share / Number of Players: Around 3-5% of the top 100.
  • Popular Models:
  • Details: Tecnifibre, a French brand, has grown since Swiatekโ€™s 2020 breakthrough. The Tecnifibre racquets blend power and control, appealing to all-court players, but its WTA presence is smaller than ATPโ€™s.
  • 2025 Outlook: Swiatekโ€™s dominance indeed ensures Tecnifibreโ€™s visibility, though Collins retiring is a minor setback.

Additional Brands

  • Diadem: 1-2 players (Elina Svitolina). An emerging American brand with the Nova series. Check also our Diadem Axis review.
  • Artengo: 1 player (rare in Top 100). A Decathlon brand, minimal pro use.

Statistical Breakdown

These are based on late 2024 data and early 2025 adjustments:

  • Wilson: 31-43%
  • Yonex: 19-29%
  • Babolat: 11-15%
  • Head: 8-10%
  • Tecnifibre: 3-5%
  • Others (Diadem, Dunlop etc): 2-5%

Insights

  • Wilson-Yonex Rivalry: Wilson leads, but Yonexโ€™s growth (especially in Asia) narrows the gap, driven by players like Rybakina and Pegula.
  • Customizations: Paint jobs are common, but endorsements reflect brand popularity.

  1. Caro Garcรญa gets a mention and not Emma Navarro whoโ€™s a top ten player using the vcore? Pro French and anti American bias? ;-)
