Alcaraz vs Sinner prediction
Bookmakers are expecting Alcaraz to defend his Roland-Garros title and there is a strong case for this happening on Sunday.
Not only is the Spaniard the defending champion, but he has won 33 of his last 35 matches on clay. This includes titles in Monte-Carlo and Rome this season, the latter of which saw him beat Sinner in straight sets just three weeks ago.
Speaking of Alcaraz v Sinner, while Sinner’s results have made him the undeniable best player in the world over the past 18 months, there’s one little asterisks next to that claim: Alcaraz has prevailed in each of their last four meetings.
However, as strong the case for Alcaraz to win is, our money is on Sinner claiming his maiden French Open in 2025.
The Italian is playing breathtaking tennis this fortnight. He has made top players, Andrey Rublev and Jiri Lehecka, to name a few, look like novices on court. His pace of shot, rock-solid consistency from the baseline and damaging serve have been as good as they’ve ever looked in Paris.
Given how close he pushed Alcaraz in Rome – when he hadn’t played in three months – we’re confident he can improve on that and win in the final.
Men’s French Open final betting tips
Based on our prediction above, here are the three bets we suggest taking this Sunday:
Total games over 40.5 – 1.83 (-120)
Alcaraz and Sinner are so close in level that taking the over market here is not a hard decision. Yes, bookies have set it at a high 40 games, however, even a four-set win could see this mark breached. Of the 11 matches these two have contested, nine have featured at least one tiebreak. They’ve met three times in majors, and none have been a low number of games.
Four sets total – 2.50 (+150)
As close as we think this final will be, we predict it will end in four sets. Sinner’s consistency will see him consistently hold serve and push Alcaraz hard on his own. However, the Spaniard’s high ceiling will inevitably mean that he has a surge and claims a set of his own.
The benefit of this bet, and the one above, is that if Alcaraz brings a blistering level and proves our prediction wrong, there’s still a good chance of this bet paying. We’re confident in our prediction, but it would be naive to think this match isn’t a little bit of a toss up. In these kinds of clashes, best to choose markets where all your bases are covered.
Sinner to win 3-1 – 4.75 (+375)
This bet should come as no surprise, given we’re tipping Sinner to win and the match to finish in four sets. It has a nice juicy payout of 4.75 (+375) and feels like the most likely scenario for this contest. Sure, there’s every chance this one goes five – as two of their three Grand Slam meetings already have – but this market is the better priced of the two, so take this as a value bet that could see you walking away with your pockets full on Sunday.
