The WTA Tour heads to Beijing this week for the penultimate WTA 1000 event of the season. With big names like Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauff in action at the 2025 China Open, read on as we breakdown the latest odds, dark horses and value bets for tennis betting online.
WTA Beijing Odds and Favorites
Here’s who the bookies have as favorites to win the Beijing WTA 1000 this year:
Women’s 2025 China Open Betting Odds
- Iga Swiatek @ 3.20 (+220)
- Coco Gauff @ 7.00 (+600)
- Elena Rybakina @ 9.00 (+800)
- Mirra Andreeva @ 9.00 (+800)
- Amanda Anisimova @ 10.00 (+900)
World No 2 Swiatek is a clear favorite to claim her second title in Beijing, with the Pole priced at a short 3.20 (+220). Defending champion Gauff is a long way behind her at 7.00 (+600), before Rybakina, Andreeva and Anisimova are all closely priced between 9.00 (+800) and 10.00 (+900). The remainder of the field is not far behind either, with a further nine players sitting between 15.00 (+1400) and 34.00 (+3300).
Top Dark Horses for WTA China Open 2025
Looking beyond the immediate favorites, here are a few names we recommend keeping an eye on in Beijing over the coming days:
- Jelena Ostapenko
- Jasmine Paolini
- Victoria Mboko
Jelena Ostapenko @ 81.00 (+8000)
The mercurial Ostapenko is well overdue for another deep run. Consistency is far from the Latvian strong suite. However, when she hits her stride, it’s a thing to behold, and typically happens a handful of times per season. Earlier this year, she claimed dual top-five victories to make the Doha final. In Stuttgart she did the same, only this time she went one further to claim the title, taking out world No 1 Aryna Sabalenka in the championship match.
It’s been a quiet run since then, which makes us think that something is stirring for Ostapenko again. That very well may be another first-round loss, but with odds of 81.00 (+8000), a bet on her winning the Beijing title is an opportunity we can’t pass up.

Jasmine Paolini @ 19.00 (+1800)
Paolini sits just outside the top-five favorites heading into the China Open, but with odds of 19.00 (+1800) she’s priced as a healthy underdog. We see her as an excellent dark horse bet, however, given her recent Billie Jean King Cup heroics.
The Italian was immense in helping her country defend their title last week. She won all three of her singles matches and threw in a doubles victory as well. Now, she brings this momentum to China. From what we’ve seen of her in the past, Paolini is a huge momentum player, which is why we like her as a dark horse here.
Victoria Mboko @ 34.00 (+3300)
Wind back the clock six weeks and Canadian teen Mboko was the talk of the WTA Tour. She stormed inside the world top 30 – having been ranked 300+ this time last year – courtesy of a searing run to the Canadian Open title.
While an early loss at the US Open has cooled some of the hype around Mboko, it hasn’t diminished any of her ability. With a little of the spotlight off her, odds of 34.00 (+3300) for the 19-year-old to make another deep run is an enticing prospect.
Betting Tips and Value Bets for China Open 2025
There are plenty of betting angles to consider ahead of the WTA China Open. Below are the three we like the most:
- Swiatek to Win @ 3.20 (+220)
It’s far from controversial, but the reality is Swiatek is a heavy favorite in Beijing for a reason. The Pole is an impressive 57-13 in 2025, and that’s including her poor showing on the clay earlier in the year. More recently, she’s won 23 of her last 25 matches, including titles in London, Cincinnati and Seoul.
That Seoul title was just last week, where Swiatek showed little hangover from her US Open disappointment by racing through the draw for the loss of just one set. She has a slightly more challenging path ahead of her in Beijing with the likes of Naomi Osaka, Andreeva, Jessica Pegula, Mboko and Qinwen Zheng all in her half. However, 3.20 (+220) is juicy enough for us to like this bet.
- Paolini to Make the Final @ 9.00 (+800)
We’ve already espoused the merits of a bet on Paolini as a dark horse to win the Beijing Open. However, the best bet on the Italian is to make the final, which hedges against the fact that Swiatek lurks in the top half.
Paolini is in the bottom section of the draw, which is far more favorable. It has an out-of-sorts Gauff, a worn-out Ansimova and the hit-and-miss Rybakina – all challenges that Paolini can navigate.
- Potapova to Beat Siniakova @ 2.80 (+180)
For those after a more immediate payout, backing Anastasia Potapova to beat Katerina Siniakova in the first round is our suggestion. Siniakova has been in a rich vein of form recently, making the Seoul semi-finals off the back of her 125-level title in Warsaw last month. However, the Czech isn’t used to such a high volume of matches, so it is to be expected that her run will come to an end.
Potapova, on the other hand, has been out of action since the US Open. I happened to be on the same flight as her to Beijing last week, and she seemed well-rested after spending time with family at home. With odds of 2.80 (+180), it’s a great bet to take.
