Yet another interesting matchup coming early in the Mexico Open, when world no 2 Sascha Zverev takes on the talented American Learner Tien in the round of 16.
Alexander Zverev has the chance to close the gap, or even become world number 1, to Sinner in the coming months as the Italian is serving his doping ban. He got off to a good start in the first match in Acapulco when he defeated the strong Italian Matteo Arnaldi in three sets. He slowly adapted to the new conditions, coming off some clay court tournaments just recent, and was happy with his performance.
The German has now won three out of his last five matches and wants a deep run in the tournament he won back in 2021.
Young talent Learner Tien, the finalist of the 2024 Next Gen ATP Finals, comes from three wins here in Acapulco and beat Cameron Norrie by 7-6(5),6-3 in the previous round. After being down 4-5 in the first set he really went on to dominate.

Predictions and Odds
The bookies put Zverev as the favorite here, not unexpected. A win for Zverev gives 1.23 (-450) while an upset Tien win pays around 4 times the money. Sascha is a previous champion here and also reached the final in 2019.
This is the first meeting between these two and that always makes it a bit harder to predict. The German is by far the most experienced and we like what we saw from him vs Arnaldi, a strong opponent. Tien, with his aggressive style and capability to play well in different conditions can challenge the best at times, but he would need to cut out certain simple mistakes and double faults.
Prediction: We believe Zverev will dominate most parts of this match and we found value in a 2-0 set betting win at around odds 1.70 (-150).
