The final weekend of the 2026 US Open delivered high drama. While 17-year-old American Marcel Latak etched his name into the history books with an impressive boys singles triumph, the newly established partnership of Christian Harrison and Neal Skupski capped off a great hard-court season by capturing the men’s doubles crown on Arthur Ashe Stadium.
Latak wins epic battle to claim Boys’ Singles Crown
In the junior boys’ singles final, American Marcel Latak got his maiden Grand Slam title when he was staging a stunning comeback to upset top-seeded Brazilian standout Guto Miguel 3–6, 7–5, 7–6(15–13).
Latak is the first American boy to lift the singles trophy at Flushing Meadows since Taylor Fritz triumphed in 2015.
After dropping the opening set, Latak battled his way back into the contest and edged a tense second set 7–5. What followed was a gripping match tiebreak in the third. Both youngsters traded blows and championship points in a nerve-wracking conclusion, but Latak held his composure through the chaos, eventually closing out the 15–13 tiebreak.
“I’m pretty stoked about how today went down for the singles. I mean, I just told myself to go for it” Latak commented after.
Harrison & Skupski seal dominant run
Over on the professional side, the men’s doubles final saw fifth seeds Christian Harrison and Britain’s Neal Skupski complete a flawless, straight-sets fortnight, defeating the sixth-seeded German duo Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz 6–4, 7–6(6).
The American-British pairing navigated the entire New York draw without dropping a single set. However, the championship match was far from a blowout.
After breaking serve to edge the opening set 6–4, Harrison and Skupski found themselves locked in a fierce battle against Krawietz and Pütz, who had shown resilience throughout the tournament. With serve dominating the second set, the match naturally gravitated toward a tiebreak.
The decider hung in the balance, but Harrison and Skupski kept their composure in the closing stages. Skupski then forced the final error from Krawietz to seal the championship.
