Thought the 2025 tennis season was done? Surprise, the Next Gen ATP Finals kick off this week, in an odd scheduling quirk. The eight best up-and-comers in the men’s game will go head-to-head in a unique, under-21, Fast-4 format over the next five days in Jeddah. With names like Learner Tien and Nishesh Basavareddy in the mix, read on for our breakdown of the odds, overall predictions and top value bets.
Next Gen ATP Finals Odds and Favorites
Tennis bookmakers have held off releasing their odds for the Next Gen Finals 2025 in case there are any late withdrawals from the event (Joao Fonseca and Jakub Mensik have already pulled out). The field seems set now though, and this is how bookies such as Stake have priced it:
2025 Next Gen Finals Betting Odds
- Learner Tien – 2.10 (+110)
- Nishesh Basavareddy – 7.50 (+650)
- Rafael Jodar – 8.00 (+700)
- Dino Prizmic – 8.00 (+700)
- Alexander Blockx – 8.00 (+700)
- Nicolai Budhov Kjaer – 11.00 (+1000)
- Justin Engel – 11.00 (+1000)
- Martin Landaluce – 11.00 (+1000)
There’s a clear favorite heading into Jeddah this year, and that’s Tien (image on top). The American is priced at less than a third of the next closest contender, with a payout of 2.10 (+110) should he take out the title.
Next, Basavareddy holds a narrow edge at 7.50 (+650) before the trio of Jodar, Prizmic and Blockx are all even on 8.00 (+700). Even the underdogs – Budkov Kjaer, Engel and Landaluce – are only priced at 11.00 (+1000), demonstrating just how volatile the Fast-4 format is.
Next Gen Finals 2025 Predictions
World No 28 Tien is the overwhelming favorite for good reason at the 2025 Next Gen ATP Finals in Jeddah. His defensive skills and tactical maturity are ideal for the Fast-4 format, and it helps that he’s been here before. He’s a cut above the rest, and it’s hard to not see him racing through the field, given he’s motivated enough to let it disrupt his off-season.
In the Blue Group, I’m tipping Budkov Kjaer to join Tien in the semifinals. He’s in brilliant form with four Challenger titles this year, and should have the firepower to outhit the likes of Landaluce and Jodar on the slick indoor courts.
Mensik’s withdrawal has opened up the Red Group. Indoor specialist Alexander Blockx hits a flat ball and is my pick to top the group. In terms of who will join him in the semis, I’m backing Prizmic to rise to the challenge. We’ve seen flashes of him over the past 12 months, and he has to be favored over Engel as a result. As far as Basavareddy goes, I’m just not convinced he’ll handle the format well.
Bottom line, this event rewards players who handle the pressure of the sprint format, where holding serve is critical. I’m tipping the final to be a clash between the two most seasoned indoor players, Tien and Blockx, with the experience and nous of Tien getting him over the line.

Top Value Bets for ATP Next Gen Finals 2025
Building on the above for those who are chasing some specific value bets heading into Jeddah, here are my top Next Gen Finals tips:
- Learner Tien to win outright – 2.10 (+110)
The 2.10 (+110) price on a top-30 player against competitors outside the top-100 is inflated due to the Fast-4 format’s high variance. This ignores the significant skill gap between Tien and the rest of the field, plus the American’s variance-proof style of play. His excellent return and defense prevent Tien from donating free points, forcing opponents to hit winners—a difficult task under pressure. Getting him above evens is a genuine value bet, even if his odds are much shorter than the rest of the field.
- Budkov Kjaer to beat Landaluce – 1.93 (-108)
This day one match is a classic case of name recognition vs surface suitability. Landaluce, more of a house-hold name given his projection to be “the next Alcaraz”, is overpriced here. His rhythm-based game doesn’t go as well on fast indoor courts, nor against someone of Budkov Kjaer’s style.
The Norwegian has a superior serve and has shown an ability to close out tournaments this season that Landaluce hasn’t. At pick ‘em odds, I’m taking the guy who’s proven he can do it, and has the right weapons.
- Alexander Blockx to win outright – 8.00 (+700)
With Mensik out, Blockx has a clear path to the final. While we don’t love him against Tien, at odds of 8.00 (+700) and in this format, hedging our earlier outright bet on the American is a smart play here. Let’s not forget that the Belgian is something of an indoor specialist, so it’s not the craziest tip for him to go all the way.
