Born on March 26, 2000, in Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil, Reis da Silva began playing tennis at the age of three. To advance his training, he relocated to São Paulo at age 13, where he lived and trained for seven years before eventually moving to Rio de Janeiro.

Reis da Silva publicly shared his sexual orientation in December 2024, making him the first active male professional tennis player on the ATP Tour to openly identify as gay. He is in a relationship with Brazilian actor and model Gui Sampaio Ricardo.
