Jannik Sinner capped a brilliant season by capturing his first-ever Rolex Paris Masters title, defeating Canada’s Félix Auger-Aliassime in a clinical straight-sets final, a victory that also will get the Italian star back to the summit of the men’s game as the World No. 1 when ranking updates are done on Monday.
The 24-year-old Sinner secured the win with a commanding performance, 6-4, 7-6(4) over his in-form opponent. The victory marks his fifth ATP Masters 1000 crown and sees him pass Carlos Alcaraz to reclaim the top spot in the ATP Rankings.
Not dropping a single set
Sinner’s run in Paris was one of complete dominance; he completed the entire tournament without dropping a single set, actually a rare feature at the Masters 1000 level. This win also extends his winning streak on indoor hard courts to an incredible 26 consecutive matches.
The final saw Sinner break early in the first set and hold serve as we’re used to seeing. The second set was a tighter affair, with Auger-Aliassime, who was fighting to secure his spot at the season-ending ATP Finals, pushing the Italian to a tie-break. However, Sinner’s clutch play was once again enough, securing the tie-break and the match on his first championship point with a decisive two-handed backhand.

Speaking after the match, a jubilant Sinner reflected on a hard-fought win: “It’s huge, honestly. It was such an intense final here, and we both knew what was on the line. From my side, I’m extremely happy.”
The duel for the year-end World No. 1 spot is now closer than ever. Sinner’s triumph tightens the gap in the ATP Race to Turin, where he now trails Alcaraz by just 1,050 points heading into the season-ending ATP Finals.
