The final of the 2026 Nordea Open in Båstad is set for today, July 19, and we have two previous champions in top seed Andrey Rublev and defending champion Luciano Darderi.

Match Preview: The Road to the Final

Both players arrive at the final after tough three-set performances in their respective semi-finals on Saturday.

  • Andrey Rublev (No. 1 Seed): The 2023 Båstad champion is competing in his 30th ATP Tour final. He overcame No. 3 seed Alejandro Tabilo 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 in the semi-final. Rublev enters the match in strong form, and the veteran is looking to secure his 18th career title and his 100th tour-level victory on clay.
  • Luciano Darderi (No. 2 Seed): The defending champion from Italy remains unbeaten on the Swedish clay, entering the final on a seven-match winning streak at this tournament. He secured his place in the final by defeating unseeded Adolfo Daniel Vallejo 6-4, 6-7(11), 6-3 and he’s currently seeking his sixth ATP Tour title.

Predictions and best bets

This should be a really tight match between two in-form players. Rublev is the most experienced and have big titles also on the red dirt, even if it’s not his favorite surface. Darderi’s game is very well suited on these slow clay courts in Sweden and he should have a slight edge just on this.

Look for Rublev to try shorten points and use his strong forehand to win points. Darderi is a master on slow clay and he will surely put Rublev on the defense at many parts of the game and won’t mind long exchanges.

Rublev enters the game as the odds favorite at around 1.66 (-150 or 4/6) but I think it will be a very tight battle and will go for a game hcp bet on Darderi (+1.5) for 1.90 (-110).
