Mark Lajal

Mark Lajal is the number 1 Estonian player, with a strong serve, but what is his current racquet and gear setup?

Mark Lajal’s tennis racquet

Mark Lajal’s racquet is a Wilson Blade Pro V9. I am not sure if the Blade Pro (also known as the H22) has undergone a change in layup since its release through Wilson’s Pro Labs program several years ago.

Lajal uses the 18/20 version, but the Blade is also available in a 16/19 pattern. He strings it with Luxilon 4G. We are unfamiliar with his tension preferences or exact specifications.

More about Lajal

Mark Lajal was born on May 12th, 2003, in Tallinn, Estonia. He started training at the Mouratoglou Tennis Academy at the age of 15.

Turning pro in 2020, Lajal reached a junior peak of no 13 in the ITF combined rankings the following year, but no major junior titles.

His breakthrough came in 2023 at the European Open in Antwerp, where, ranked no 229 and as a wildcard, he defeated Jaume Munar for his first ATP Tour win, becoming the first Estonian to win an ATP match since 2012. That year, he also won his first ATP Challenger title in Little Rock, Arkansas, making him Estonia’s second-ever Challenger champion.

In 2024, he reached his second Challenger final in Zhangjiagang, losing to Yasutaka Uchiyama.

His Grand Slam main draw debut came at the 2024 Wimbledon where he got a tough draw and was defeated by Alcaraz (who later went on to win the event).

His biggest win so far was at the 2025 Libema Open where he defeated world no 64 Laslo Djere.

Mark Lajal’s career high rank is 191 which was achieved in November 2023. For now he has 1 ATP Challenger titles and 3 ITF titles.
