Every summer, Wilson rolls out a US Open-branded refresh across its lineup and this year’s collection is “inspired by the
timeless style of American tennis and the beating pulse of NYC“. Let’s have a closer look at what the collection features and if it’s worth it.
The Blade and the Clash
There are two Wilson racquets in the collection this year, covering different ends of their range.
The Blade 98 16×19 v10 gets a US Open colorway with the same spec sheet as the standard release: 98 sq. in. head, 16×19 pattern, and the spin-friendly, control-oriented feel the Blade line has built its reputation on.
The Clash 100 v3 also gets the tournament treatment: 100 sq. in. head, 16×19 pattern, roughly 11 oz strung, built around Wilson’s FortyFive carbon fiber layup for the flex-and-snap-back feel the Clash line is known for. It’s the more forgiving, all-court frame of the two, and the bumper, grommets and end cap use a plant-based Agiplast compound rather than standard plastic.
So, both are cosmetic updates to existing v3/v10 platforms rather than new tooling, no changes to layup, beam or weighting.
Bags: Where the real variety is
This is where Wilson has put the most effort ans changes in for the US Open, with a wide spread of capacities:
- US Open Backpack (2026): A two-racquet padded compartment, a separate laptop/tablet sleeve, a removable zip pouch for toiletries, and a strap that lets it dock onto a rolling suitcase. Available in “Team” (white) or a slightly more expensive “Tour” (blue) version. See images below.
- US Open Small Duffel: Front pocket sized for two racquet handles to poke out, a vented shoe compartment, and mesh organizational pockets inside the main compartment. A sensible middle ground between backpack and full racquet bag.
- US Open 6-Pack Racquet Bag: The high-capacity option, aimed at coaches or racquet nerds like ourselves, rather than individual players, with thermal protection to help preserve string tension in the heat. Also available in a white Team version, for either 6 or 3 racquets.
The thermal lining on the 6-pack bag is the one detail that’s more than cosmetic, heat management matters for anyone stringing days ahead of a match.
And the balls…
Rounding out the collection is the Wilson US Open Official Ball, sold in several quantities and variations, including the Extra Duty felt for hard courts. It’s the same official tournament ball Wilson has supplied for years, packaged under the US Open name.
