I’ve had really bad experiences trying to combine wide feet with large shoe sizes (EU 49 / US 14) – most tennis shoes are simply too narrow or start to pinch in the forefoot. That’s exactly where this shoe stands out right away. From the first moment you put it on, it feels noticeably more spacious in the toe box and midfoot compared to many traditional models. Tests also confirm that the Hypercourt Express 2 offers a wider fit in the forefoot, which is a big advantage for players with wide feet.
You notice this immediately on court as well – no long break-in period, no uncomfortable tightness, and even after longer sessions the shoe still feels comfortable in terms of width (which is almost never the case for me).
For comparison: models like the Asics Solution Speed FF 3 or the Asics Gel- Challenger 15 were clearly too narrow in the forefoot for me and caused pressure points after a short time. An older Lotto model gave me similar issues, although I unfortunately don’t remember the exact model name.
In EU 49 / US 14, the shoe fits perfectly. It’s not too long in the toe area, but also not overly wide, offering a very good, sporty fit overall. What I really like is that even with a wide foot, the shoe doesn’t feel bulky or clunky.

Performance & Comfort
On court, the shoe feels light and agile. I always had excellent court traction and, most importantly, very good lateral stability, which is absolutely crucial in tennis. The shoe felt comfortable right away, without needing hours of break-in time.
Even after longer matches, my knees and ankles felt well supported. The cushioning is nicely balanced – not too soft, but comfortable enough for intense play.
Ventilation is also solid: even in warmer conditions, I never felt that the shoe became excessively hot.

Weaknesses
What’s not perfect is the durability. The outsole wears down a bit faster compared to some other shoes. However, to be fair, I play exclusively on a Tennisforce clay court (all-season clay surface). This specific surface is extremely demanding and pushes almost any regular tennis shoe to its limits when it comes to outsole durability.
In this regard, older models from Asics or Lotto actually performed even worse for me.
Conclusion
If you have wide feet and are looking for a comfortable tennis shoe that holds up even during long matches, you should definitely give this shoe a chance. As mentioned before, there is no break-in period required, which has often caused pain and discomfort for me with other models.
There are also carpet and all-court versions of this shoe, which offer the same excellent features as the clay court model. As long as this shoe continues to be produced, I won’t wear any other tennis shoe. I hope this review was helpful.

Feel free to share your experiences with this shoe or other tennis shoes in the comments.
Until then,
