Lacoste AG-LT Pro tennis shoes

Lacoste might be better known for its polo shirts and classic sneakers, but the brand has been quietly building a great performance tennis line over the past few years. The AG-LT Pro (released earlier this year) is their most ambitious shoe yet, a court-specific, tech-heavy shoe developed alongside Lacoste pro tour players, including Daniil Medvedev. So does it deliver?

Upper

The upper uses what Lacoste calls PiquéWeave technology – a Leno-style woven construction mixing ETPEE, TPU and polyester yarns. It’s a thoughtful design that balances durability with breathability, and the Coolmax lining does a solid job of wicking heat during longer sessions. An internal lateral support cage wraps the midfoot, adding structure in the right place for aggressive side-to-side movers. While the width is a standard-to-generous medium, it cuts a bit short in length, consider going up a half-size if you’re between sizes. Shoes from various tennis brands seem to differ quite a lot in sizes so it’s always recommended to try them properly before buying.

Midsole

This is where the AG-LT Pro stands out. The dual-density Hyper Responsive Foam (LHR Foam) midsole uses a firmer compound on the lateral edges, where you need support during direction changes, and a softer, more cushioned layer underfoot. It’s a smart setup that a lot of premium shoes now use, and Lacoste has executed it well. A hidden Pebax shank in the midfoot adds torsional rigidity without making the shoe feel stiff or plank-like underfoot. Heavier players and hard hitters in particular should appreciate the added stability.

Outsole

Lacoste’s LineGrip outsole features a multidirectional herringbone tread – a proven, reliable pattern that works well on both hard courts and clay. The rubber compound feels durable, and the tread depth looks like it should hold up well over time, though long-term wear is always the real test. The shoe comes in dedicated hard court and clay versions, which is worth noting if you primarily play on one surface.

Who is it for?

At 408 grams per shoe, the AG-LT Pro isn’t the lightest option on the market. This is a stability-first shoe, not a speed shoe. If you’re an aggressive baseliner who puts a lot of stress on your lateral movements, or a bigger player who needs solid support through long matches, this should be interesting for you. Serve-and-volley players or those who prioritise a lightweight, low-profile feel might want to look at the AG-LT Lite instead.

The AG-LT Pro is also available in a Daniil Medvedev signature edition (the “DM” colorway).

Should I buy it?

The Lacoste AG-LT Pro is a genuinely well-engineered performance shoe, and Lacoste deserves credit for putting real thought into the technology. It’s not the most versatile shoe in the lineup, but for competitive club players and tournament players who wants support and stability, it’s actually one of the more impressive releases of 2026 so far. Well worth a try!
