Wilson Ultra Tour racquets

Written by: Jonas Eriksson | January 16, 2026

Wilson have released two new Ultra Tour racquets. The Ultra Tour used to be Japan only, but is now available worldwide.

The Wilson Ultra Tour 98 is Kei Nishikori’s signature model and was planned to be a Japan-only release, but is now also available outside Japan on Wilson.com.

The Ultra Tour 98 has a 308 gram unstrung weight and an 18/19 string pattern, which makes it unique in Wilson’s line-up and makes it compete with racquets like the Tecnifibre Tfight 305S, HEAD Prestige MP and the Nordicdots 98 Pro, to mention a few racquets with similar specifications. This racquet has received high praise from play-testers and we are keen to test it once we can get our hands on a demo.

You can check out the new Wilson Ultra Tour racquets at Wilson.com, Tennis Warehouse Europe, (not yet at) Tennis Warehouse or Tennis Only.

Wilson Ultra Tour 98

Kei Nishikori’s signature frame is now in your hands. The Ultra Tour 98 brings championship-level precision with a new 98-square-inch head that delivers forgiveness and power, while the updated 18×19 string pattern unlocks additional power and spin. Improved spec tolerance across weight, balance, and swing weight means the most consistent performance ever from a Wilson racket—no surprises, no adjustments needed. Crafted with Agiplast plant-based bumper, grommet, and end-cap components for reduced environmental impact, and finished in an explosive Electric Indigo colorway. When you’re ready to play at the highest level, your racket should match that commitment.

Who is it for?

The Wilson Ultra Tour 98 is for advanced players who can handle the somewhat demanding 308 gram weight and generate their own power with the 98 sq inch head size and 18/19 string pattern. The racquet is a great option for players who want a bit more power than the Blade 98 V9 provides.

The 18/19 pattern won’t be the most spin-oriented, so it is ideally suited for flat hitters or players who like a lower launch angle and can create shape on the ball.

Overall, a solid control racquet, which deserves to be available worldwide.

Wilson Ultra Tour 95 QZ

The Wilson Tour 95 is a longstanding line with its 16/20 pattern and slightly extended length. It’s a popular racquet among pro players on both WTA and ATP Tours. The frame is now Qinwen Zheng’s signature racquet called Ultra 95 QZ V5.

For a 95 sq inch racquet, the Ultra Tour 95 is surprisingly powerful with its balance and extended length. Wilson interestingly mentions improved spec tolerance for this racquet, which is something that most discerning tennis players will approve of.

Ultra 95 QZ V5 specifications

Head (sq cm) 613
Head (sq in) 95
Length (cm) 69.22
Length (in) 27.25
String Pattern 16X20
Strung balance (cm) 35
Strung weight (grams) 302
Strung weight (ounces) 10.65
Taper System (mm) 22 FB
Unstrung balance (cm) 34
Unstrung weight (grams) 283
Unstrung weight (ounces) 9.98

These are the same specifications as the Tour 95 has been historically, dating back to old racquets like the nTour.

How does it play?

The Tour 95 from Wilson plays with an interesting mix of precision and power. Sure, the sweet spot on a 95 sq inch racquet will never be particularly forgiving, but this racquet has some good power from the extended length, leading to a beefy swing weight and more demanding maneuverability.

For aggressive players who like a smaller head size and can deal with a slightly longer racquet, this one is a solid option. The 16/20 pattern gives you a good mix of spin and precision.

Summary

These two new Ultra Tour racquets make the Ultra line more complete, with the Ultra 100 and the Ultra Pro being two other good options. We are keen to test and review these two racquets when we can get our hands on them. Make sure to check out our video reviews on YouTube and latest news on Instagram for more.

  2. What brand is Learner Tien using at the Australian Open? Wilson Ultra V5 100? Or is it a Tour model?
