Bio and Career

Born on May 16, 1999, in Nuremberg, Germany, Rodionov began playing tennis at the age of four.

A key element of his career has been his success on the Challenger circuit, where he has won 8 singles titles. His first came at the Almaty Challenger in 2018. Other notable titles include the 2020 RBC Tennis Championships of Dallas, the 2022 Biel/Bienne Challenger and the 2024 Koblenz Challenger.

He was a strong junior player, peaking at no 7 in the world. He was also a runner-up in the 2017 Wimbledon boys doubles final.

Rodionov made his main draw Grand Slam debut at the 2020 French Open as a qualifier. He secured his first tour-level win there, rallying from two sets down to defeat Jeremy Chardy in five sets and reach the second round.

In October 2020, as a wildcard in Vienna, Rodionov achieved the biggest win of his career by defeating the eighth seed and then World No. 12 Denis Shapovalov in straight sets.

In 2021, he reached his maiden ATP Tour quarterfinal and then semifinal as a wildcard at the MercedesCup in Stuttgart after defeating Alex De Minaur, though he retired in the semifinal due to injury. This run helped him reach a career-high ranking of World No. 135 at the time.
