Babolat French Open Edition 2017

Written by: Jonas Eriksson | May 22, 2017

It’s time for the second slam of the year – the French Open (Roland Garros) and it’s also time for Babolat to release their French Open line of racquets and apparel.

Babolat usually produces specific editions for French Open and Wimbledon and this year is no different with for example the Babolat Pure Aero French Open racquet with accompanying racquet bags and apparel. You can get the new racquet at Tennis Express via this link.

What do you think of the new paint job of the Babolat Pure Aero French Open edition? I personally think it looks better than the original, but then I’m not a big fan of the colour-combo black and yellow.

The Babolat French Open racquet bag (12 racquets) is not half bad either:

There is also a specific French Open edition of their popular tennis string Babolat Xcel that looks like this:

Babolat is really the only brand creates specific paint jobs and bags for the Grand Slams. I have no idea how it affects sales, but I’m pretty sure it’s a good idea from a commercial point of view as most major sports events sell a lot of merchandise.

Will you buy any Babolat French Open edition stuff? Why and why not? Please comment below.

Personally, I’m missing a Babolat Pure Strike French Open edition. I’m honeymooning with this stick at the moment and really enjoying it with a full bed of Solinco Hyper-G at 22,5 kg. So far no harm to my arm!
