Lehecka

We’re already into the final of the first ATP tour event of the year, the 2025 Brisbane International. Read on for our preview of Jiri Lehecka vs Reilly Opelka.

Czech star Jiri Lehecka progressed to the 2025 Brisbane final following an injury to the defending champion, Grigor Dimitrov in the semi’s. Falling behind by 6-4 4-4, the Bulgarian world No.10 looked in pain and received treatment on his groin / hip. The 23-year-old Lehecka has looked very solid in the beginning of the season and this will be his fourth ATP final in total. His first title also came in Australia, in similar conditions, at last year’s Adelaide International.

In the big-server battle of the later semi-final, Reilly Opelka (back from all his injury problems) got the better of Mpetshi Perricard in straight sets. The match was over in under 1 and a half hour and the serve looks stronger than ever. He had 12 aces, landed 70% of first serves and won 84% of first-serve points. This was Opelka’s fourth successive straight-set win.

Predictions and Odds

At the tennis betting sites, we see Lehecka as the slight favorite currently at odds 1.77 | -130 and the Opelka gives 1.98 | -102.

The 293rd (!) ranked Opelka’s confidence couldn’t be better after eliminating first Djokovic and then in-form Mpetshi-Perricard. Hopefully if we can see him injury free from now on he should climb back higher in the rankings.

For Lehecka it will surely be a priority to find a counter to the Opelka serve on Sunday, a strong defence is something he has succeeded with against other players though. Even though Opelka had an impressive week, we still think the Czech is the overall better player and he has been really consistent lately.

Our prediction: Lehecka to win in 3 sets at the great odds 3.80 | +280.
