Bio and Career

Galán was born June 18th, 1996, in Bucaramanga, Colombia, and comes from a family where most of them played tennis.

Turning pro in 2015, Galán reached a junior peak of No. 49, with a 2014 French Open boys doubles semifinal.

His breakthrough came at the 2020 French Open, where, as a lucky loser ranked No. 153, he reached the third round, defeating Cameron Norrie before falling to Novak Djokovic. In 2022, he made his first ATP quarterfinals at the San Diego Open and the Cordoba Open and reached the US Open third round, upsetting No. 5 Stefanos Tsitsipas, his biggest career win and Colombia’s first Top 5 victory since 1975.

His best Grand Slam result was the 2023 Wimbledon fourth round.
