Draw
This is quite a draw to start the year! A very strong field.
Predictions
The draw still has many holes as we are in the qualifying stage, but the first name that hits your eye in the field is Naomi Osaka coming back after maternal leave from the sport.
She has said in several interviews that she feels better about herself, more confident and outgoing. If she can channel that positive emotion into her tennis, it’s potentially bad news for the rest of the field. I think she should be able to win her first match against Korpatsch, but Pliskova in the next round will be more of a test.
Check out this post, if you want to find out about Osaka’s racquet. And if you want to place a bet on the event, you do well to check out the best tennis betting sites.
Despite Osaka being an amazing player, I don’t think she has a realistic chance to win the event. My two favorites for that is either Sabalenka or Rybakina.
Another interesting player to watch is youngster Mirra Andreeva, who is predicted to do big things in the sport. I predict that she will start the year strongly and will go through a few rounds in Brisbane, most likely beating Sophia Kenin in her path.
But I believe Sabalenka will win the event. She has become a much more consistent player and I think she will have a strong 2024.
