Iga Swiatek, the 24-year-old Polish star, just claimed her first Wimbledon title, defeating Amanda Anisimova with a double bagel in a 57-minute masterclass. This marks a stunning return to form following a drop from her world no 1 position last year . To celebrate, LEGO gifted her a 30-centimeter-tall strawberry model made of 3,000 bricks, honoring her victory in London and love for strawberry pasta (!).

Swiatek’s 2025 season began with challenges. After dominating as World No. 1 from 2022–2024 with four French Open titles and a 2022 US Open, she faced setbacks, including a doping controversy in November 2024, resulting in a one-month ban for a contaminated sample of trimetazidine. Her ranking slipped to No. 8 after a semifinal loss to Aryna Sabalenka at Roland Garros and a year without a title.

Wimbledon changed the narrative. Seeded No. 8, Swiatek dropped just one set, leveraging her improved serve (78% first-serve points won) and topspin forehand on slower grass courts. Her 6-0, 6-0 final win, the first Wimbledon double bagel since 1911, made her the youngest woman since Serena Williams in 2002 to win majors on all three surfaces. “It seems super surreal,” Swiatek said, noting her unexpected grass-court success.

LEGO, a brand Swiatek has partnered with since 2024, celebrated her victory with a custom strawberry model featuring a minifigure of her holding a bowl of strawberries, reflecting her quirky love for makaron z truskawkami, a Polish dish she championed during the tournament. “I ate it often as a child. It’s delicious,” she said after her third-round win over Danielle Collins. The 3,000-brick gift nods to Wimbledon’s strawberries-and-cream tradition and Swiatek’s mental training with LEGO sets, which she credits for focus.

The future?

Swiatek’s season now continues with a packed hard-court schedule, where she has had a lot of previous success. We’ll see her in the US first ahead of the US Open and also at several events in Asia. She’ll also lead Poland at the Billie Jean King Cup.

Her US Open odds are currently around +325 or 4.25, trailing Sabalenka slightly but ahead of Coco Gauff, reflecting her strong hard-court win rate.
