Djokovic has just signed up to play the Mallorca ATP 250 doubles as his preparation for Wimbledon and a possible Grand Slam title number 20.

Novak Djokovic will arrive in Mallorca this Thursday to start his preparation for Wimbledon (from 28th June 2021). Wimbledon grass courts have been specially built at the Mallorca Country Club in Santa Ponca. The 19-time Grand Slam champion will be accompanied by his complete staff – led by the former Wimbledon winner Goran Ivanisevic. Novak Djokovic will take part in the doubles competition of the ATP grass-court tournament held at the Mallorca Country club.

Djokovic was offered a wildcard by tournament director Toni Nadal. Furthermore, Djokovic will also attend the official inauguration of the new Centre Court STADIUM at the Mallorca Country Club this coming Friday, 18th June 2021. The highlight of this event will be an exhibition match between Djokovic coach Goran Ivanisevic and the former world no. 2, Tommy Haas (GER).

With Dominic Thiem, a second Grand Slam title holder will participate in the Mallorca Championships beside Novak Djokovic. The US Open champion from 2020 leads a strong singles draw, including up-and-coming Norwegian Caspar Ruud and Russia’s Karen Khachanov.

“We are very happy that Novak Djokovic will start his preparation for the season highlight in Wimbledon at the Mallorca Championships. After the intense weeks of the French Open in Paris with lots of exhausting matches , he will focus on practicing at the Mallorca Country Club in the next days but also help to get the tournament into the spotlight by taking part in the doubles competition. Having another top star in Dominic Thiem, who last September celebrated his biggest success by winning the US Open in New York, is also a GREAT honor for our tournament and our new club”, says Edwin Weindorfer, CEO of the organizer, e|motion group.
