tsitsipas vs ruud final barcelona open

In the 2024 Barcelona Open Final we’ll see Stefanos Tsitsipas battle it out with Casper Ruud, just like in the Monte-Carlo Masters final last week.

Once again we have these two in-form, clay masters left on the last day and the main question seem to be, can Ruud get over his final losses and get his revenge this time?

Casper Ruud has been looking in superb form all week in Barcelona, following the loss in the final to Tsitsipas and he remains one of the absolute top clay players on the tour.

The no 6 ranked Ruud has shown straight set wins over Alexandre Muller, Jordan Thompson, Matteo Arnaldi and Tomas Martin Etcheverry in an impressive fashion. Add to that last weeks event in Monte Carlo where he beat Djokovic, we can see the Norwegian is in great form for his favorite part of the season.

He just needs to get over the finish line and show the same quality in the final match. Some think it’s a psychological issue, this is actually his 4th final this year, win no titles so far.

Tsitsipas as confident as ever

Stefanos Tsitsipas has looked good since winning the Monte Carlo last week, but maybe haven’t faced as tough competition this time. Also, it hasn’t been exactly cruising…

He needed a tiebreak in the last set against Diaz Acosta and went on to beat Lajovic over three sets, even though it looked for a while he could have lost it in straight sets.

Head-to-head, Ruud vs Tsitsipas

Their h2h records show a 2-2 draw and last meeting was of course the Monte-Carlo final where the Greek was the much stronger and more confident player.

Predictions and Odds

Ruud is after revenge this time and we have a feeling he might get over the finish line this time, having not lost a set all tournament. His play was disappointing in their last meeting and he knows he can beat Tsitsipas on clay if he just manages to convert his break points and make sure the Greek is not dictating the play.

The odds are very even this time at most tennis sportsbooks with Ruud being a small favorite.

It looks like a 3 set match and in our predictions for Tsitsipas vs Ruud we’ll go for a value bet on 2-1 set betting on Ruud for over 4 times the money, as well as a bet on Over 12.5 Total games won by Casper Ruud for around 1.80 | -125 | 4/5 odds.
