Silvester Hepta Plus is Silvester’s more aggressive, spin-focused polyester. It’s made for modern baseliners who want the most ball rotation without losing control. This string has a heptagonal shape and is meant for players who like to hit with a lot of topspin and control the game from the back of the court.
I tried Silvester Hepta Plus in both full bed and hybrid setups, with Silvester Energy and RPM Blast, to get a better idea of where it fits. Hepta Plus is firmer, grippier and more spin-oriented than Energy 123. It has less free depth but more bite and shape.
Tech & specs
- Gauge: 1.254mm / 17
- Material: Co-polymer (polyester)
- Color: Black (Also comes in Red)
- Shape: Heptagonal
Playtest results
Hepta Plus feels much more aggressive than Silvester’s round offerings right away. The stringbed responds firmly and is connected, and its launch angle is much lower than that of Energy 123.
This string does not give you “free power.” Instead, it rewards swings that are fast and committed. The shaped profile grabs the ball hard, and you can see snap-back right away in the first few rallies.
First impressions:
- Very high spin potential
- Firm, crisp response
- Lower launch angle than Energy •
- Needs full swings to unlock depth
Break-In Period
There is a short but noticeable break-in period for Hepta Plus. Within the first 30 to 45 minutes: •
- The stringbed settles
- The feel gets a little softer
- The balance between spin and control gets better
After that, a shaped poly stays pretty playable, but it doesn’t have the same long “plateau” as Energy 123.

Durability & Tension Maintenance
For a shaped poly, it lasts a long time. Notching happens at a moderate pace, and snap-back works well for most of the string’s life. Holding tension is good, but not the best in its class. Hepta Plus loses tension a little faster than Silvester Energy 123. This is normal for strings that are shaped more aggressively.
Expect:
- Good performance for the first 8–10 hours
- Gradual softening and loss of bite after that
- Best for players who regularly change strings
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Excellent spin and bite
- Strong control and predictable launch
- Stable under heavy pace
- Ideal for aggressive baseline play
- Works very well in hybrids (especially with Silvester Energy in crosses)
Cons
- Firmer feel than round polys
- Less free power and depth than Energy 123
- Average tension holding compared to round control polys
- Not ideal for sensitive arms as a full bed
Comparable Strings
Silvester Hepta Plus sits alongside other modern shaped spin polys such as:
- RPM Blast – similar bite, RPM slightly livelier
- Solinco Hyper-G – a tad softer feel, higher launch
- Head Lynx Tour – comparable control, less aggressive bite
Compared to Silvester Energy 123, Hepta Plus is clearly the spin-first option, while Energy is more about controlled depth and long-term consistency.
In summary
Silvester Hepta Plus is a string with a lot of spin that is made for modern baseliners with faster swings and want the ball to jump off the court with a lot of rotation. It gives up some comfort and the ability to hold tension for a sharper bite, a lower launch, and a higher spin potential.
As a full bed, it works well for confident, aggressive players who regularly restring their strings. It becomes a very balanced setup that mixes spin, control, and a little more forgiveness when you use a round poly like Energy or a firmer cross (e.g. Restring Sync).
If you’re choosing between Silvester’s polys:
- Energy 123 = controlled depth, feel, tension holding
- Hepta Plus = spin, bite, aggression
Both have a place – Hepta Plus just lives firmly in the “modern spin” lane.
