ASICS is one of the top brands for tennis shoes, and their “best” models really come down to your playing style and what you prioritize, such as speed, stability or more of an all-around performance.
The brand breaks its top tennis shoes into three main lines, each designed for a different type of player and they also had some recent updates for 2025. Let’s look closer at the different options.
Top ASICS Tennis Shoes by Player Style
1. ASICS Court FF 3
- Best for: Overall/All-Court Players (like Novak Djokovic, who wears them).
- Key Features: This is often considered the best all-around premium shoe from ASICS. It offers a great blend of speed from the Solution Speed FF line and stability/durability from the Gel Resolution line. It’s known for its excellent cushioning, support, and a high-traction outsole that works well on multiple court surfaces.

2. ASICS Gel-Resolution X (or 9)
- Best for: The ASICS Gel-Resolution X tennis shoe (image on top) is good for powerful baseliners and players who need maximum stability and durability.
- Key Features: This is ASICS’ flagship stability shoe. If your game involves a lot of lateral (side-to-side) movement, powerful slides and quick, sudden stops, the Gel-Resolution line is for you. It features enhanced support technology, a wide base for stability, and exceptional durability, making it ideal for players who are tough on their shoes. We felt a slightly different sensation when playing in the X compared to the 9.
3. ASICS Solution Speed FF 3
- Best for: Attacking speedsters and players who prioritize a lightweight, fast feel.
- Key Features: This is the most lightweight and agile option. If your game is focused on quick acceleration, moving to the net, and generally covering the court with explosive speed, the Solution Speed FF should work great. It offers great shock absorption for its weight and a responsive feel that helps you stay fast on your feet.
