The Asics Gel Resolution X updates the well-reviewed Asics Gel Resolution 9. It is a heavily updated shoe, which might divide the tennis shoe community.
I was fortunate to try this shoe when I visited Tennis Warehouse in San Luis Obispo a few months back, but I have not tested it enough to provide a firm opinion. So you have to wait a little longer for the Asics Gel Resolution X review. I am always keen how other play-testers perceive products, so if you have used the Asics Gel Resolution X, please comment below.
What’s new?
The Asics Gel Resolution X features a re-engineered Dynawall. The idea is to maximize lateral stability while maintaining comfort as you plant and cut aggressively for changes in direction. You can expect a slightly different sensation when playing in the X compared to the 9.
They have worked hard to make the midsole plusher with a combination of FlyteFoam Blast+ and ECO Foam besides the Gel cushioning, which gives the shoe its name. forget not the signature Gel cushioning in the forefoot. The medial side of the ankle collar has been raised to provide comfortable padding, while the PGUARD on the medial side of the toe box provides drag protection for those players who slide on hard courts. I have noticed this trend with many new tennis shoes. Since the new wave of young and explosively moving tennis players, there is a focus on the slide-ability of the shoes. I am personally not a hard court slider and I am sure many of you reading this are not either, so keep this in mind.
A Full-length AHAR Plus rubber outsole has the reputation of being one of the most durable in the industry, and the tread pattern provides good grip on a variety of surfaces. If you purchase these shoes from our friends at Tennis Warehouse, TW Europe, or Tennis Only, you also get a six-month outsole durability guarantee.

Summary
I have only tried the Asics Gel Res X for a couple of hours and that gave me a positive first impression. I am a small part of the Tennis Warehouse review video, but I will also do my own when I get the chance to test these over a longer period. If you loved the Asics Gel Res 9, there is a lot of change here, so it is good to mentally prepare yourself for that.
I am keen to hear what you think about the new Asics Gel Res X in the comments below. Sidenote: they have just signed Lorenzo Musetti as a new ambassador for the shoe.
