British Paul Jubb is having the tournament of his life at the Mallorca ATP 250. Let’s talk about Paul Jubb’s racquet and breakthrough.
24-year-old Paul Jubb is currently 289 in the world, but will take a massive leap up the ATP rankings after his run in Mallorca. He can go further than the semis considering he plays a “beatable” opponent in Sebastian Ofner in the next round. The ATP 250 grass court events leading up to Wimbledon are ripe for surprises with the low-bouncing courts and fast-paced tennis. We should not be too shocked in seeing British players like Billy Harris (semi-finalist in Eastbourne) and Paul Jubb doing well. Neither with Aussies like Max Purcell and Aleksandar Vukic, who also are in the semis in Eastbourne.
Grass court tennis requires something a bit different, and the more time you have on it, the better. Make sure to check out our post about the best ever grass court Players to see who figured it on the biggest stages of tennis.
Paul Jubb’s racquet
Paul Jubb is still listed as a Yonex player, but is playing with what looks like a HEAD Speed MP. As with most pro player racquets, you can not be sure what it is unless you get a closer look.
I have seen Radicals painted like Speeds and all things in between. But it is clear that he has made a switch from his Yonex Ezone to a HEAD racquet and it seems to work well judging by the results this week.
He strings his racquet with natural gut in the mains and a dark poly in the crosses. It could be HEAD Hawk Touch, for example.

Good luck to Paul and it will be interesting to follow his journey during the rest of 2024.
