Bio and Career

Mees Röttgering was born July 7th, 2007, in Wanssum, Netherlands. He has rapidly come up as one of the brightest junior talents in the tennis world. Known for his left-handed play and aggressive style, Röttgering has reached a career-high ATP singles ranking of No. 800 in September 2024. His junior career peaked when he became the world No. 1 junior in January 2025, following a final spot at the 2024 Wimbledon boys final and victory at the prestigious World Tennis Tour Junior Finals.

Röttgering started his tennis journey at six years old, training at Amjoy Tennis in Veldhoven under coach Jochem Mol, with additional guidance from former pro Sjeng Schalken later on. Some of his achievements included winning the Astrid Bowl in 2023 and making the semifinals at the 2024 Australian Open boys singles.

His entry to the professional circuit began with a wildcard entry to the ATP 500 Rotterdam event in February 2025, where he faced his first ATP main draw match against Mattia Bellucci in front of the home fans. Although defeated, his performance was promising and it will be exciting to see him on tour in the coming years.
