More on Hubert Hurkacz
“Hubi” was born on 11 February 1997 and started playing tennis already at the age of 5, as his mother was a junior tennis champion in Poland.
By 2014, Hurkacz was already among the most talented, upcoming Polish tennis players and in his junior career, he was ranked as high as no 29 in the world.
The Pole turned professional in 2015 and he got himself into the top 100 ranked players for the first time in 2018 following successful runs at the US Open and the Roland Garros.
2019 saw him win his first ATP title in Winston-Salem after beating Benoit Paire in the final. In the same year he also broke into the top 40.
Hurkacz is a very talented doubles player as well, since his junior career. The following year, in 2020, team Hurkacz / Auger-Aliassime won their first ATP doubles title at the Paris Masters after defeating Pavic / Soares in the final.
The following years after this, Hubert continued to impress and win titles. In the end of 2021 he reached the no 9 ranking and with this, passing Wojciech Fibak as the highest ranked Polish man in ATP ranking history (singles).
The last few years has seen Hubi as a major force and with one of the strongest serves on tour, he reached a career high rank of no 6 in August of 2024. Following some injury problems in 2025 he seems to back in great form and we expect Hurkacz to climb the rankings in 2026, back to where he belongs.
